A LUXURIOUS NEW YEARS EVE BASH

As 2016 winds down, I wanted to cap things off here at JustineCelina with an unexpected twist! The older we get and the busier our lives become, the more I truly treasure the time I’m able to spend with family and friends — especially during the holidays. I’ve always wanted to host a black tie party to ring in the new year — I would much rather stay in and create a unique and memorable evening for guests to enjoy than go out to celebrate. Today I’ve teamed up with HomeSense, Rebecca Dawn Design and Genevieve Renee Photographie to do just that in this Luxurious New Years Eve Bash

If you’re hosting a New Years Eve party and looking for some fresh ideas, we have so much entertaining inspiration in store for you today. This season I wanted to create something interesting and experiment with a different aesthetic — fantastical, luxurious and a bit avante garde. This moody, black tie celebration is complete with dramatic florals and modern decor mixed with antique touches, indulgent accoutrements, Vanilla Pomegranate Mulled Wine and no shortage of bubbly. Rich, on-trend textures of velvet, agate and natural stone are layered with jewel tones, gold and antique brass to create a dramatic spread with contemporary flair. If you, too, are craving some drama this season, we invite you embrace your dark side this New Years Eve and celebrate 2017 in style! Continue Reading

FESTIVE VEGAN SALAD WITH CRANBERRY DIJON VINAIGRETTE

Do you have a plant based eater or vegan attending your dinner party this season, but have absolutely no idea what to feed them?! Relax, my friends — I have just the recipe! The best part about my Festive Vegan Salad with Cranberry Dijon Vinaigrette is that I bet you have most (if not all) these ingredients already stocked in your kitchen for the holidays. The festive medley of fruits and veggies is hearty, satisfying and loved by herbivores, omnivores and carnivores alike. It’s the ultimate no-fuss addition to any dinner table this season!

Eat the rainbow and fuel up on the good stuff during this indulgent time of year — a powerhouse mélange of apples, mandarin oranges, brussel sprouts, shredded beets, roasted acorn squash, toasted walnuts and a tangy Cranberry Dijon Vinaigrette comprise this nourishing holiday salad. It pairs perfectly with turkey, or can be enjoyed alone for a vegan dinner option that won’t leave guests hungry for more. This showstopping salad comes together in less than 30 minutes and keeps for up to 3 days (like most things in life, it gets better with age!) — because we all know the best part about Christmas dinner is the leftovers! CHRISTMAS IN NOVEMBER AT THE FAIRMONT JASPER PARK LODGE

We’re back from Christmas in November at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and tonight I’m recapping our experience! What is Christmas in November, you ask? Basically, it’s a giant meeting of people who love all the same things I love — great food, wine, entertainment and seasonal inspiration. This past weekend we cooked with celebrity chefs, learned about holiday decor from industry experts, came away with tons of culinary inspiration and tasted wine from all over the world. Sounds like a good time, right? Now, imagine that experience set in a charming, rustic lodge, overlooking a serene mountain lake in a picturesque National Park. That, my friends, is what Christmas in November at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is all about! I’m sharing every detail of our trip — including the accommodations, the food, and drink, the lodge, the spa, the setting, the sessions, the after parties, who we met and what I wore! Come along with us to Jasper, Alberta on this festive retreat nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and let’s kick off the holiday season in style!

AUTUMN ENERGIZER JUICE

You guys, these are some busy times. I’m definitely no stranger to hard work — but without a doubt, these last few months have been the busiest of our lives. And while I’m grateful for the work and opportunities, there’s really only so long you can burn the candle at both ends before things start to fall apart, health wise. After awhile, there’s a point when coffee and tea can no longer help me and what I really need is sleep. At times like these I find myself turning to fresh juice to give myself an extra immunity boost!

Despite my busy schedule, I pride myself on being a healthy person and taking the best care of myself that I can through diet and exercise. Thankfully, I rarely get sick. So when I woke up on Friday feeling run down with a little tickle in my throat, I knew I had to get handle on it! It’s Sunday and I feel much better now — but this past week I came up with a new fresh juice recipe that I wanted to share with you. My Autumn Energizer Juice combines traditional autumn produce with unconventional ingredients — resulting in sweet, creamy, energizing juice with a spicy, warming kick! Power through busy times with an offbeat fresh juice recipe that includes both sweet potato and cape gooseberries. It’s just what the doctor ordered! Continue Reading

I’m back with some beautiful, orchard-fresh Ambrosia apples, a new recipe and a grateful, renewed mindset! Happy belated Thanksgiving to my Canadian readers, I hope you all enjoyed a weekend full of family, friends, delicious food and a few good drinks. It’s been a week since my last post because I decided to take this weekend off from blogging. It was a combination of events that led me to decide another unplugged weekend was exactly what I needed (nothing serious, but I definitely needed the time away!). I’ll get more into that later in this post — but for now, let’s get to chatting about this recipe!

My Apple Pie Steel Cut Oats with Candied Maple Pecans is inspired by comfort food, holiday flavours and warming, autumnal spices. They’re a simple, delicious way to celebrate fall’s freshly harvested apples and they can be on your table in less than 45 minutes. Who says you can’t indulge an apple pie craving to start your day? This powerhouse breakfast bowl is free of dairy, gluten and refined sugar — and busting with natural sweetness, spices and wholesome nutrition. And yes, it really does taste just like apple pie! Throw on your coziest sweater and let’s make an apple pie inspired dish that you can eat for breakfast — all week long!
