Well hello, everyone! It’s been a week since my last blog post — I took the long weekend off from blogging to enjoy some quality rest and relaxation — and it was absolutely fantastic! I headed to the mountains on Saturday for a peaceful drive, a much needed massage at my favourite spa and an incredible meal. I also slept in, caught up on some housework, read a book and generally just enjoyed a slow, semi unplugged weekend without my camera (yep, still working on that balance thing we talked about!) How did you spend your long weekend?
This week I’m back at it — feeling refreshed, renewed and so excited to bring you another collaborative post in our ALL ABOUT series where Rebecca Dawn Design and I team up to educate you about everything you’ve ever wanted to know to know about a certain flower! In honour of love month, it’s been All About Roses here at JustineCelina and today we’re reintroducing you to February’s quintessential bloom, the rose. Learn about common and unique varieties, what to look for when purchasing roses, as well as how to care for and condition them so you can enjoy them for up to 14 days. Rebecca also shares her secret weapon for reviving droopy roses — you’re not going to want to miss it! There’s so much pretty in store for you today (did you know flowers are one of my favourite things to photograph?) as we take a closer look at Vendela, Quick Sand, Mother of Pearl, Cappuccino, Precious Moments and Roseberry rose varieties.
Will you be our Valentine?! In honour of love month, Rebecca Dawn Design and I have created the dreamiest bed of roses inspired by Pantone’s Pink Peacock and Sweet Lilac for the February 2019 edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS! This free-spirited, feminine wallpaper features an exquisite array of the finest roses available — including Vendela, Quick Sand, Mother of Pearl, Cappuccino, Precious Moments, Roseberry and spray varieties (learn all about them here), with a healthy dose of Ranunculus (learn all about them here) and Hellebores throw in for good measure!
Celebrate and share the love this month JustineCelina style by downloading February’s free tech wallpaper to infuse your (or your Valentine’s!) computer, tablet or phone with a romantic, whimsical touch! We hope these playful florals inspired by February’s quintessential flower and Pantone’s SS19 Fashion Colour Trend Report bring a little extra joy to your life this month. Your bed of roses awaits, lovers!
Flower lovers, welcome back for the first post of 2018! Rebecca Dawn Design and I are kicking 2019 off with a fresh installment of DIGITAL BLOOMS celebrating the softer side of winter with a dreamy, neutral palette of blush, cream and sage juxtaposed with dramatic berry. We’re also dipping our toes into Pantone’s 2019 Colour of the Year, Living Coral — described as an animated and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. Our beautiful Keira Garden Rose’s petals feature a kiss of this year’s hottest hue!
And now, for some blog housekeeping! In an effort to work smarter, streamline my workflows (more on this in an upcoming 2019 goals post) and keep my DIGITAL BLOOMS free, in 2019 I’ll be releasing one tech wallpaper each month here at JustineCelina, rather than the three I’ve offered previously. You can still expect this post on the first of each month, however, I’ll be focusing on creating three designs to represent each season. This January, the first of our WINTER free tech wallpaper includes stunning Keira Garden Roses (learn all about roses), Ranunculus (learn all about ranunculus), Blushing Bride Proteas and foraged berries. Start 2019 fresh by giving your tech a clean, minimalistic makeover and enjoy January’s Digital Blooms on the background of your computer, tablet or phone all month long — completely free!
Flower friends, I’m elated to share a fresh installment in our ALL ABOUT series with you — and this time, it’s All About Ranunculus! If you’ve ever downloaded one of our DIGITAL BLOOMS or stopped by to learn more about an arrangement, there’s a good chance Ranunculus were present. They’re one of our all-time-favourite flowers, they come in nearly every colour of the rainbow and they’re now available year round — hence the abundance of Ranunculus here at JustineCelina! Today Rebecca Dawn Design and I are teaming up once again to educate you on an of the moment seasonal flower — we’ve already covered Anemones, Tulips, Roses and Peonies in this series, so it’s about time we dedicated a post to Ranunculus! This post features a variety of shades, hues and varieties of our favourite flower, so get ready for a whole lot of pretty along with a healthy dose of FLOWER EDUCATION!
If you’re looking to bring some colour into your home this autumn with affordable, long lasting blooms, consider our All About Ranunculus post your one-stop educational resource to learn everything you ever wanted to know about this popular flower. Today we’re sharing alternate names and meanings, colours and varieties available, vase life, what to look for when purchasing, as well as how to care for and condition your Ranunculus so you can enjoy them for up to 2 weeks. Rebecca also shares her insider tips about how to perk up droopy stems! Whether you’d like to learn more about these gorgeous, classic blooms or simply stopped by to brush up on general flower care and conditioning, we’re so happy you’re here!
Hello, September! Eager to embrace autumn’s arrival later this month while fully enjoying the last days of summer, Rebecca Dawn Design and I have blended the best of both seasons in this month’s Free Tech Wallpapers! September’s DIGITAL BLOOMS are heavily inspired by the Pantone Fall / Winter 2018 Colour Trend Report (expect to hear a lot more about it here at JustineCelina over the next few months), arranged with a whimsical touch. Working with a rich transitional palette of Red Pear, Ultra Violet, Russet Orange, Limelight, Sargasso Sea, Tofu and Quiet Grey, we created 3 floral designs that bridge the gap between my two favourite seasons beautifully!
This month, you’ll find a few of our all time favourite flowers at play — including Ranunculus (which all about them here!), Garden Roses and Anemones (learn all about them here), complimented by a peppering of fresh Scabiosa and velvety Dusty Miller. If you’re ready to welcome fall with a fresh, on-trend colour story and give your computer, tablet or phone a glamorous seasonal makeover, click through to download September’s DIGITAL BLOOMS — absolutely free!
Friends, I’m so excited to share August’s Free Tech Wallpapers with you today! Since the inception of DIGITAL BLOOMS nearly 2 and a half years ago, we’ve always incorporated your feedback into our design process — whether it be highly requested flowers, coloured backgrounds or more minimalistic designs, you asked and we delivered! One request that we’ve consistently received this year is to create more masculine or gender neutral designs — and because of the nature of flowers being inherently feminine, it we knew this one would be challenging. So, we have a bit of a curveball for you today! August’s free tech wallpapers feature a gorgeous neutral palette along with and a handful of edible produce and herbs — a first here in the JustineCelina DIGITAL BLOOMS library!
Inspired by the bounty of summer gardens, Rebecca Dawn Design and I teamed up to curate a lovely selection of Quicksand Roses, Purple Artichokes, Safari Sunset, Mini Green Artichokes, Rosemary, Hypericum and Feijoa in an fresh, earthy palette of new green, aubergine, blush and sage. Add a culinary flair to your tech this summer by clicking through to choose from 3, free desktop wallpapers — we hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed drawing inspiration for new sources to create them for you!
Well hey there, June! Summer is only a few weeks away and Rebecca Dawn Design and I are celebrating with the ultimate soft, dreamy, pastel, watercolour inspired edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS! I’m obviously partial to these shades as they mimic my personal brand here at JustineCelina — and I have to say this is one of my favourite sets of free floral downloads we’ve created over the years. As I’m sure you’ve noticed (just look at my content over the past couple of months!) pastels are everywhere this spring and summer, so this month we curated a dreamy selection of Willow Eucalyptus, blue Delphiniums, lavender Garden Roses, creamy Pom Pom Chrysanthemums, pink Alstroemeria, blush Hyacinths, magenta Tulips and coral Asiatic lilies to create a beautiful, watercolour inspired ombre effect. Embrace the softer side of summer flowers and bring a harmonious, uplifting vibe to your tech with our June 2018 Digital Blooms!
You probably guessed it, this pastel wonderland was inspired by the Pantone Spring 2018 Colour Trend Report! I’ve been particularly inspired by lavender and lilac hues lately (OMG, the lilacs are so gorgeous right now!) and have been incorporating them into my creative work, home, wardrobe and even my beauty routine lately (more on that coming soon!). Freshen up your tech for a brand new season by clicking through to download a floral tech wallpaper to the background of your computer, tablet or phone — absolutely free, no strings attached (seriously… I don’t even ask for your email address!).
