It’s been awhile since I reviewed some new products from one of my favourite high end makeup brands Bite Beauty. So today I’m excited to bring you a review of 3 summery shades from their most recent launch — the Amuse Bouche Lipstick range. If you’re not familiar with Bite, they’re a Canadian lip-exclusive brand who’s products are made with natural, food grade ingredients that are actually good for your lips. Bite Beauty used to make my all time favourite lipstick formula, the Luminous Crème Lipsticks. I also introduced so many of you to Bite products last year — I love it when you leave comments, send me messages or tag me in photos wearing my product recommendations!
Imagine my dismay when I heard Bite was discontinuing the Luminous Crème Lipsticks earlier this year (do anyone else’s favourite products always seem to get discontinued?!). When I discovered they were replacing the Luminous Crème Lipsticks with a new lipstick line called Amuse Bouche I was intrigued — and a bit skeptical, to be honest! I’m happy to report that I love Bite’s Amuse Bouche Lipsticks just as much (if not a little better!) than their predecessor, my beloved Luminous Crème Lipsticks. Come hang out for a review, photos and swatches of the Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in Meringue, Gingersnap and Pickled Ginger!
With Winter Solstice in the rear-view, it feels surreal to be publishing my final LOOKBOOK of the decade (isn’t that absolutely wild?!). We’re deep into autumn here in Calgary and I’m back to share what I’ve been wearing in this 6 outfit Autumn 2019 Lookbook! Over the past couple of months we’ve been working on capturing style content more seamlessly in our day-to-day lives, popping out to shoot what I’m wearing whenever (and wherever) we have a couple of free hours — and it’s been working out well! In September I also experimented with publishing a 6 outfit LOOKBOOK to celebrate the transition of summer to autumn (my favourite time of year!) and I really enjoyed that process. Although I committed to producing one, 12 outfit seasonal LOOKBOOK here at JustineCelina at the beginning of the year, I find that the weather changes so quickly (and drastically) here in Calgary it can be a completely different season from the time I start working on a 12 outfit LOOKBOOK to the time I actually publish it (they’re at least a month in the making!). So, for the remainder of the year, I’m excited to announce I’ll be producing 6 outfit LOOKBOOKS with quicker turn around times, to more accurately depict what I’m wearing for each micro-season!
My Autumn 2019 Lookbook features 6 of my favourite fall looks that have carried me from chinooks through snow storms in style! Autumn weather in Calgary is extremely erratic — and over the years I’ve actually really come to enjoy the challenge of dressing for it. As always, you can expect a mash-up of high, low, old, new and vintage in my Autumn 2019 Lookbook — plus my take on this season’s hottest trends, colours, patterns and silhouettes adapted to both personal and professional settings. Just ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Week sales, this LOOKBOOK is complete with tons of shoppable links at every price point, along with my best tips and sources to curate accessible style at a fraction of traditional retail. You know the drill — pour yourself a cozy glass of wine or snuggle up in front of the fireplace with a cup of tea and let’s chat about styling autumnal FASHION for unpredictable northern climates!
Lipstick lovers, I’m elated to share my first dedicated BEAUTY post in nearly 2 years (I cannot believe it’s been so long!) to kick off the return of beauty content here at JustineCelina! Today I’m thrilled to introduce a brand new series called MY TOP 5, where I shared tried and true beauty staples across categories. If you follow along with my FASHION content, you’ll likely be familiar with my philosophy of investing in wardrobe staples — and that mindset also trickles into my ‘beauty wardrobe’! While I absolutely love to experiment with beauty trends and keep up-to-date on the latest colours, textures and methods, I also have a core collection of well formulated beauty staples that I find myself wearing most often.
Today I’m kicking things off my sharing My Top 5 Everyday Lip Colours — the ones that live in the bottoms of bags, that I’ve gone through multiple tubes of and that you’ll find me in whenever I’m in mood for a flattering my lips but better shade! These are my most worn, most loved lip colours — the ones I most often recommend to friends and family, and use on shoots. The formulas are luxurious and nourishing, they’re easy to use and wear and they make your lips look perfectly defined, plump and juicy! My Top 5 Everyday Lip Colours are flattering on a wide variety of skintones and age ranges, too. Pull up a seat at my vanity and let’s chat about my all-time-favourite lipsticks, glosses and lipliners while I update you on what you can expect here in the JustineCelinaBEAUTY department moving forward!
Happy love day, friends! This year, I’m putting a PANTONE 2019 Colour of the Year spin on Valentine’s celebrations with a warm, pink-hued introduction to all things Living Coral! By now, you’ve likely heard about 2019’s hottest hue — either here at JustineCelina, or elsewhere online. As a creative professional, I’ve followed PANTONE (the global colour authority for creative industries) for inspiration my entire career. In fact, I even have a section dedicated to them here on the blog to categorize all my PANTONE inspired work throughout the years! As someone who’s very inspired by colour, I love to stay informed about the latest colour trends and allow them to inspire, challenge and push my creative work.
As you can probably imagine, I’m particularly passionate about PANTONE’s selection for 2019! If you’re craving a serious dose of colour to help see you through these final wintery months as we (slowly but surely!) transition into spring, today’s post is an ode to Pantone’s 2019 Colour of the Year. Get ready for a mega dose of Living Coral inspiration — including my favourite ideas to inspire you to incorporate this beautifully vibrant and energetic hue into your personal style, home decor, plants, flowers, beauty routine and even your food and drink this year!
Animal print is absolutely everywhere this autumn / winter — and I personally couldn’t be happier about it! As I slithered through all the animal-inspired goodness this season brought, I have to say the print that surprised me the most was snakeskin. Snakeskin is bigger than ever for AW18 — type it into the search bar of your favourite online retailer and scale-covered options abound in nearly every garment and accessory. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure about the trend at first — but I absolutely think it can be elegant and beautiful when styled with a tasteful eye. Although I never thought you’d catch me in head-to-toe snakeskin, I’m all about experimenting with my personal style and staying inspired creatively, which is why I think it’s important to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. I was so thrilled to find a frock that I felt suited my personal style and also allowed me to dabble in a trend I wasn’t sure was for me — it’s since become one of my most worn and definitely my most complimented pieces. This post is all about empowering you to do to same! I firmly believe trends can be adapted to suit everyone’s personal style — it’s just about finding a piece that suits your lifestyle, integrates seamlessly into your wardrobe and makes you feel amazing!
Today’s post is an ode to all things snakeskin, including my favourite ways to wear it for autumn / winter, styling tips for both personal and professional settings and a roundup of my favourite snakeskin pieces plus links to everything I’m wearing (or similar alternatives) at every price point. If you’re intrigued by the snakeskin trend but simply aren’t sure where to start, this post is for you! Pour yourself a juicy glass of red wine and settle in for a fresh installment in my PATTERN PLAY series dedicated to AW18‘s breakout print!
The bigger the sweater the better… am I right?! This winter, oversized knits are trendier than ever — and I’m all for it. Like any good Canadian girl, I pretty much live in oversized sweaters from November through March — they’re another item I’ve always worn regardless of whether or not they’re particularly on trend. In fact, I love this sweater so much I actually own it in 3 different colours (total repeat offender here!) and they’re by far my most worn knits this season. As an oversized knit aficionado, today I’m thrilled to bring you How to Style | Oversized Knits and share my favourite ways to dress up your knitwear for maximum versatility! Sure, it’s easy to throw on an oversized knit with leggings and OTK boots or your standard skinnies and be out the door (I do this too!), but this winter I’ve been having fun with my oversized knits and getting creative!
Although it’s January, the weather has actually been quite mild and I’m finding myself looking ahead to spring. There’s been a lot of talk here at JustineCelina this year about the Pantone Spring 2018 Fashion Colour Trend Report — I’m really craving (and being inspired by) spring’s onslaught of pastels and brights! Remember all those times I mentioned that pink isn’t really a colour I wear? Well this season, I’m really enjoying all things blush and lavender (seriously… who am I?)! If you’re searching for some fun ways to re-energize your oversized knits as we transition into spring, or looking to add some new knitwear to add to your wardrobe (and score some killer deals!), you’ll love the latest installment in my HOW TO STYLE series!
