By now, you’ve likely heard about 2019’s hottest hue — either here at JustineCelina, or elsewhere online. As a creative professional, I’ve followed PANTONE (the global colour authority for creative industries) for inspiration my entire career. In fact, I even have a section dedicated to them here on the blog to categorize all my PANTONE inspired work throughout the years! As someone who’s very inspired by colour, I love to stay informed about the latest colour trends and allow them to inspire, challenge and push my creative work.

As you can probably imagine, I’m particularly passionate about PANTONE’s selection for 2019! If you’re craving a serious dose of colour to help see you through these final wintery months as we (slowly but surely!) transition into spring, today’s post is an ode to Pantone’s 2019 Colour of the Year. Get ready for a mega dose of Living Coral inspiration — including my favourite ideas to inspire you to incorporate this beautifully vibrant and energetic hue into your personal style, home decor, plants, flowers, beauty routine and even your food and drink this year!

MY 3RD BLOGIVERSARY + 10 THINGS I LEARNED IN MY THIRD YEAR OF BLOGGING

Friends, welcome back for my annual (and very belated!) Blogiversary celebration! My 3rd Blogiversary went roaring by on March 2nd — but to be honest, I was completely engrossed in our Living Room Reveal and some other fun, last minute projects at the time. Earlier this year I chatted about changing things up around here and creating space to let life happen — and that’s exactly what I’ve done! There’s been a lot happening here at JustineCelina lately as we get ready to reveal the next rooms in our SPACE REFRESH series (coming your way later this month!) and I simply had to prioritize my time differently to make this all possible. March was one of my most creatively fulfilling months of my life — it left me completely exhausted but also incredibly inspired! In the two months since My 3rd Blogiversary I’ve reached some milestones I’ve dreamed of achieving since launching JustineCelina and they’ve reminded me exactly why I started this whole thing in the first place. So, although it’s a bit late and I’ve been chipping away at this post when I can, I couldn’t be more thrilled to share this Pantone Spring 2018 inspired 3rd Blogiversary soirée with you!

In the midst of it all, I came up with the concept for this celebratory post pretty last minute — about 10 days before the shoot (which, admittedly, was about 2 months ago!). It was so spontaneous, but serendipitous and things just fell into place (I shot it myself one sunny Friday afternoon with my tripod and self timer). This year, we’re going all out — because after 323 blog posts, almost a million views (OMG!), 180 000 images, 2 900 comments and a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears (quite literally), I truly never thought I’d get here! My third year was one of intense growth, both on these pages and off of them — I hope you enjoy reading about 10 Things I Learned in my Third Year of Blogging in this raw, honest, unabashed post (you may need a sparkling glass of rosé to get though it!). Whether you’re new to JustineCelina (and there are a lot of you beautiful people — welcome!) or have been with me since the very beginning, I’m so grateful to have you here celebrating with me today! MARCH 2018 SOUNDTRACK

As March draws to a close, it’s time for a fresh Monthly Soundtrack! March was an absolutely insane, very busy month for me — but in the best way possible! From kicking off our SPACE REFRESH series with our Paint Transformation and Living Room Reveal, to working on the next spaces in the series, to my first SMP Living feature, to my 3rd Blogiversary (this image is a sneak peek of the celebratory post I shot, publishing next month!), to cocktail mania (hey, all in the name of a great recipe!) plus a few really exciting projects currently happening BTS that I’m excited to share next month, there were a lot of late nights and early mornings — and this is what kept me going! If you’re looking for an eclectic, easy listening playlist, my March 2018 Soundtrack contains nearly 3 and a half hours of great thinking, working, creating, driving or entertaining music as you celebrate with friends and family this Easter weekend!

I discovered so many new artists in March! I’ve had ODESZA’s A Moment Apart, Instupendo’s Boy, Xander Lewis’s I’m Glad You’re Here, Ab-Soul’s Bloody Waters, Pool Cosby’s New York Band Plays New York Venue, Capo Cheeze’s Oceans, to Handsome Ghosts’s cool, stripped down version of Reckless Lover, Soul Cataylst’s Escape, Ark Patrol’s Fiend, Wild Nothing’s Chinatown, Rhye’s Taste, UTAH and ADAM’s Glass House, Brett’s On The Rise and Dyalla’s Hustle Mode on repeat all month long. I hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I have lately, friends. Wishing you all a wonderful Easter weekend!

MY 1ST BLOGIVERSARY + 10 THINGS I LEARNED IN MY FIRST YEAR OF BLOGGING

Imagine a place where you could go to totally unleash your creativity. That’s what this blog has been for me for almost exactly 1 year. JustineCelina is my ultimate creative outlet and my happy place. I started my blog 1 year ago with an iPhone and an idea — and never could have imagined that it would grow and evolve into what it is today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single one of you reading this post. Your support in the largest creative endeavor of my life truly means the world to me!

I wasn’t going to make it a big deal, but I decided to throw JustineCelina a birthday party to celebrate this milestone! Today’s post is a very special 1st Blogiversary Party and collaborative shoot that I’ve invited some of Calgary’s very best makers, artists and creative professionals to be a part of — including Milton Photography, Rebecca Dawn Design, and Crave Cookies & Cupcakes. I’m also sharing ten things I learned during my first year of blogging. This is a very long post — so grab a cupcake and a glass of bubbly (or whatever you’re toasting with), get comfy and let’s celebrate! Cheers to going your own way and making your own magic! PANTONE 2016 COLOURS OF THE YEAR INSPIRATION | ROSE QUARTZ & SERENITY

Last week, Pantone announced their colours of the year — they chose two colours for the first time in history! The official Colours of the Year for 2016 are Rose Quartz (a soft pastel pink), and Serenity (a periwinkle pastel blue). Today’s post is an introduction to these shades, including ideas on how to incoporate these colour trends into your personal style for the holidays, as well as inspiration for home decor, fashion and beauty.

I’ve followed Pantone for colour inspiration my entire career — they’re the global colour authority for creative industries. They provide a colour system that ensures colour translates accurately across all mediums, whether it be in fashion, beauty, print, or in design. Pantone also predicts colour trends, so I like to keep up with what they’re forecasting to stay ahead of the curve!

A WHITE WEDDING

As we spring forward, I’m sharing some winter wedding inspiration to remind us how beautiful our Canadian winters can be. This was a chilly (but fun!) day spent in collaboration with some talented ladies and gents in High River, just after a fresh snowfall. The vision for this shoot was inspired by Rebecca‘s idea to create a winter wedding on a crisp white backdrop, along with a 1950’s wedding dress and furs I curated for Calamity Jane Vintage. Our team worked with a colour palette of soft pink, with pops of navy blue and gold in a peaceful, snowy scene. It was also featured on Green Wedding Shoes — what an honour!

A VINTAGE COCKTAIL PARTY

This was such a fun shoot to collaborate on with a very talented group of creatives. It all began with Rebecca’s vision to recreate a festive holiday scene inspired by a vintage illustration. A woman trims her tree with roses in a pink 1950’s ball gown (with a handsome man in the background!). As soon as I saw the illustration, I knew we were going to have a blast creating our version of a holiday cocktail party.
