If you’re a beauty lover looking for some reading material this long weekend, you’re in luck — it’s August Beauty Favourites time! August was a very experimental month for me beauty-wise because I purged and reorganized my entire makeup collection. Having been a beauty lover for many years before I started blogging I’ve accumulated quite the stash, which has grown exponentially this past year and a half since starting JustineCelina! I’m finding the need to reevaluate what I’m using and loving more often and also determining which products could find a better home. So, I packed up tons of goodies for friends and family and also donated some makeup to a local women’s shelter.
In my reorganizing, I set aside products that hadn’t seen much love recently and experimented with them in August — so I was a bit all over the place in terms of what I used each time I did my makeup. My August Beauty Favourites are a mixture of tried and true products in new colours, along with some brand new ones! Stay tuned for a beautiful, warm red liquid lipstick, a fantastic loose setting powder, some subtly colourful smoky eyeshadows, an inexpensive cream to powder highlighter and a heavenly scented dry shampoo from the drugstore!
I wore so many soft, rosy hues in February! My pink obsession is still going strong and last month it definitely crept its way into the beauty department. A bit of a disclaimer — since it’s my Blogiversary month (JustineCelina turned one on March 2nd!) you’ll notice a strong Rose Quartz and Serenity theme on the blog this month leading up to my celebratory post. I’m super inspired by the Pantone colours of the year, and I’ll be flooding your feeds with tons of pretty, flowery, pink and blue imagery in March. Sorry (not sorry) in advance! I also developed a thing for deep green eyeliners, rediscovered an old standby mascara, and a multi-purpose baked highlighter. If you’re a fan of soft, pretty, natural looking makeup then you’ll love my February Beauty Favourites. All but one of my favorites are also under $10 — I firmly believe you don’t have to spend a lot to look like a million bucks!
If you read any of my beauty posts, read this one! Today I’m rounding up all my 2015 beauty favourites in one post. If you’ve been with me for awhile, you know I absolutely love makeup, playing with beauty products, and experimenting with different looks. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything — and I’m definitely very particular when it comes to what I use and like. These are the absolute best, cream-of-the-crop products that I think can work for anyone! I continue to use and recommend these products again and again — not only for myself, but for family and friends of all ages, ethnicities and skintones. My 2015 Beauty Favourites are a mixture of drugstore and high end items, so there’s really something for everyone. This is a very comprehensive post — so set aside an hour, grab a notepad and a cocktail, and let’s dive into my 2015 Beauty Favourites!
October was truly a high-low month for beauty favourites! When it comes to beauty products (or anything, really) I don’t discriminate based on price — some $2 products work better than $100 products. Well, this month, I’ve been loving $2 lip liners, $3 cream eyeshadows, $3 nailpolish, a $4 dry shampoo, and a $95 face palette! So when I recommend a product, know that it’s not just good for the price — it’s just good, period! I’m sharing lots of beauty bargains with you this month, and my in-depth thoughts on the extremely spendy Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette. Also, an amazing $6 contouring palette, and the perfect matte, deep berry lip. Let’s chat about beauty bargains and splurges!
I absolutely love fall makeup, and transitioning into darker, richer shades. Fall colours are my favourite to wear! During September I rediscovered my favourite powder eyeshadows from Makeup Geek (who makes the best quality eyeshadows at any price point, but these just happen to be $6 each!). I picked up some new goodies from e.l.f. Cosmetics (another inexpensive brand with awesome products) and found a holy grail setting powder and some beautiful berry-toned blushes. I also found the perfect daytime berry lip. Let’s chat about fall beauty products!
