If you’re looking for some serenity on this Sunday afternoon you’ve come to the right place! Today’s post is a super relaxed one where I’m sharing my must-haves for natural, airy, summer style. These are the wardrobe staples I truly feel most comfortable in and like to throw on when I’m just chilling out! Whether I’m dressed up or dressed down I’ve always had a major soft spot for light, flowy fabrics and natural textures. I’ve been living in these breezy basics during my time in the prairies this summer — I know I can throw them on when comfort is a must, but so is looking cute and pulled together. I also chat about stepping up my casual shoe game and share my current favourite pair for weekend adventures! Take a break from the hustle of everyday life for a few minutes, pour yourself a cup of tea and come hang out amoung the fields of wheat and trickling streams near my childhood home in rural Alberta!

Welcome back for another installment of my Monthly Beauty Favourites posts! Today I’m chatting summer beauty and sharing some of my favourite liquid lipsticks, lip liners, a new brow pencil, a gorgeous baked bronzer, a stunning ombre blush, and my all-time favourite eyeshadow to complete bronze and gold looks. I placed a Colourpop order in May to test out some of their newer launches, so most of my favourites today are from Colourpop — one of my favourite affordable makeup brands. I also tried some products from the Lise Watier limited edition Summer 2016 Escale Collection and found a great bronzer for the summer! If you’re looking to inject some new life into your beauty routine this summer or incorporate a few fun new shades, this post is for you. Let’s chat summer beauty!
It’s been quite awhile since I’ve published a dedicated beauty review, but this is one has been on my list for the better part of 2017! Today I’m thrilled to share a comprehensive review of one of my all time favourite eyeshadow formulas — the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows. I fell head over heels for Colourpop in 2015 (just browse the JustineCelina BEAUTY archives!), went absolutely crazy and purchased about a million of their eyeshadows (and lip products, and highlighters, and… well, you get the idea!). Since then, this innovative, affordable LA based brand has exploded and now offers 90 Super Shock Shadow shades (and trust me, I’ve had to restrain myself from buying almost every single one!). I’ve owned many of their Super Shock Shadows since 2015 — some of which I’ve completely used up (and had to repurchase) and some that are now discontinued. So today, I’m sharing reviews, photos and swatches of the 22 shades I own that are currently available!
Colourpop’s Super Shock Shadows retail at $5.00 USD for 2.1g (0.074oz) and the quality is truly incomparable to anything on the market today. In 2015 when they first launched, the formula was completely revolutionary — a creme-powder with a unique bouncy texture. The pigmentation is intense, the shades are unique and they wear all day (and night) without fading or creasing. They’re also cruelty free and handmade in LA. I haven’t actually published reviews on most of my favourite shades here at JustineCelina because they don’t really fall into my Monthly Favourites category (since they’re staples I reach for regularly, sometimes products like this slip through the cracks!), so I figured it was about time to introduce you. If you’re an eyeshadow lover looking for some fantastic, affordable shadows (or want deets on my must haves from the range) this post is for you!
We’ve been having quite a few grey, rainy days lately. So, I thought I’d embrace it and show you what I wear on a more casual day when I still want to look cute and pulled together! On cooler spring days I like to feel cozy but also wear lighter colours and layers to keep things fresh and seasonally appropriate. I pretty much live in great basics like skinny jeans, cute flats, classic v-necks and oversized cardigans when I’m keeping things casual. Sometimes I also give my eyes a break from contacts and wear glasses. I picked up a couple of new frames recently, so I thought I’d show you how I style them on a casual day! I also chat about my go-to natural makeup look — it’s perfect for glasses.

There’s just something about spring that makes me really want to experiment in the beauty department! After our long, dreary (and extremely colourless) winters here in Calgary I feel so energized and inspired by the fresh beauty of spring. It’s a time where I try a lot of new products and discover new beauty favourites. So today’s post is something a little different — I’m sharing my favourite 5 Unconventional Spring Lip Colours! Pink and peach are great standbys, but this post is all about trying something totally outside of your comfort zone. I like to keep up with what’s going on in both fashion and beauty, so today’s picks combine a bit of runway inspiration with spring beauty trends. I love affordable beauty products and am always on the hunt for the next drugstore gem — each of my recommendations today is under $20! If you’re looking for some spring beauty inspiration or some fun, on-trend spring shades, this post is for you!
Today I’m reviewing the 9 shades I own from the Colourpop Crème Gel Liner range. Currently there are 25 shades available, and I decided to pick up 9 to try out — 4 metallic shades and 5 mattes. Colourpop’s Crème Gel Liners retail at $5.00 USD for 0.01 oz., just a fraction of the cost of their high-end counterparts. As makeup-loving contact wearer with extremely sensitive eyes, I think I’m the perfect candidate to test out eyeliner! I’ve been wearing and testing them for about 4 months (since they first launched the product!) so I have a really good handle on them. If you’re looking for a great alternative to higher-end eyeliners, or want to learn more about eyeliner in general, this post is for you! I also include links to my other Colourpop reviews and favourite products.
If you read any of my beauty posts, read this one! Today I’m rounding up all my 2015 beauty favourites in one post. If you’ve been with me for awhile, you know I absolutely love makeup, playing with beauty products, and experimenting with different looks. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything — and I’m definitely very particular when it comes to what I use and like. These are the absolute best, cream-of-the-crop products that I think can work for anyone! I continue to use and recommend these products again and again — not only for myself, but for family and friends of all ages, ethnicities and skintones. My 2015 Beauty Favourites are a mixture of drugstore and high end items, so there’s really something for everyone. This is a very comprehensive post — so set aside an hour, grab a notepad and a cocktail, and let’s dive into my 2015 Beauty Favourites!
