COLOUR CRUSH | CLASSIC BLUE

Colour lovers, today I’m thrilled to bring you a fresh post in my COLOUR CRUSH series dedicated to the Pantone 2020 Colour of the Year, Classic Blue! Selected by Pantone in late 2019 for its ability to ‘instil calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era’, it seems especially fitting given the current state of the world. I first introduced you to Classic Blue with January’s Digital Blooms (be sure to hop over to download a free, floral, Pantone 2020 inspired tech wallpaper!) and have been working with this comforting, of-the-moment hue across categories since. That said, although blue has always had a small place in my wardrobe (albeit mostly in denim and more formal attire), as someone with warm colouring, it isn’t a hue I’m typically drawn to. Longtime readers will know that each year I allow Pantone’s selections to inspire and challenge me here at JustineCelina — incorporating the Colour of the Year into my life and content in a way that’s congruent to my personal style. Fast forward to March and I’m absolutely crazy about Classic Blue — and today I’m sharing the inspiration with you!

In the midst of another Winter Storm Warning here in Calgary (and after a particularly heavy week in regards to recent news), I thought this weekend was the perfect time to put the finishing touches on a post I’ve been working on since February. As the way we live continues to change over the coming months, I want JustineCelina to remain a source of inspiration and joy for anyone who needs it — including myself! This instalment of my COLOUR CRUSH series is dedicated to Classic Blue transitional styling, starring one of my favourite casual winter-to-spring outfit formulas, perfect for chilly weather. As always, I’m wearing a melange of high, low, old and new in todays look — a mash up of of transitional wardrobe staples intermixed with trend-forward accessories to create an easy-going late winter outfit that’s quintessentially 2020. AUTUMN 2019 LOOKBOOK

We’re deep into autumn here in Calgary and I’m back to share what I’ve been wearing in this 6 outfit Autumn 2019 Lookbook! Over the past couple of months we’ve been working on capturing style content more seamlessly in our day-to-day lives, popping out to shoot what I’m wearing whenever (and wherever) we have a couple of free hours — and it’s been working out well! In September I also experimented with publishing a 6 outfit LOOKBOOK to celebrate the transition of summer to autumn (my favourite time of year!) and I really enjoyed that process. Although I committed to producing one, 12 outfit seasonal LOOKBOOK here at JustineCelina at the beginning of the year, I find that the weather changes so quickly (and drastically) here in Calgary it can be a completely different season from the time I start working on a 12 outfit LOOKBOOK to the time I actually publish it (they’re at least a month in the making!). So, for the remainder of the year, I’m excited to announce I’ll be producing 6 outfit LOOKBOOKS with quicker turn around times, to more accurately depict what I’m wearing for each micro-season!

My Autumn 2019 Lookbook features 6 of my favourite fall looks that have carried me from chinooks through snow storms in style! Autumn weather in Calgary is extremely erratic — and over the years I’ve actually really come to enjoy the challenge of dressing for it. As always, you can expect a mash-up of high, low, old, new and vintage in my Autumn 2019 Lookbook — plus my take on this season’s hottest trends, colours, patterns and silhouettes adapted to both personal and professional settings. TRANSITIONAL SUMMER TO FALL 2019 LOOKBOOK

With Autumn Equinox behind us and my favourite month of the year coming to a close, I’m back today with a bonus, 6 outfit, Transitional Summer to Fall 2019 Lookbook! If you’ve been following along with my style content this year, you’ll know I committed to producing one, 12 outfit seasonal LOOKBOOK here at JustineCelina in 2019. That said, since fall (and this gorgeous month when summer turns to fall!) is the season I feel most inspired FASHION wise, I created this mini transitional lookbook to celebrate the sartorial nuances I adore when blending the best of both seasons!

It’s the magical time of year when we can wear boots with bare legs, espadrilles with chunky knits, felt hats with chiffon, embroidery with corduroy and velvet with florals — and I’m fully embracing it! LATE SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK

With 3 weeks of summer still to savour, I’m back today with my Late Summer 2019 Lookbook! We started shooting this mammoth project mid-June — and although it’s taken quite some time to process the 2700+ images we took (these LOOKBOOK are definitely labours of love!), I’m absolutely elated to share this 12 outfit, late summer style guide with you today! As usual, it features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings over the last couple of months — plus innovative styling tips to help you extend the life of your summer wardrobe as we transition into autumn! My Late Summer 2019 Lookbook is complete with a healthy dose of seasonal trends, plus practical tips on how to wear them into fall, mixed with transitional wardrobe staples and shoppable links at every pricepoint (plus, insider tips about where to score the best end-of-season sales!).

Since I live in a climate where there’s snow covering the ground for 7+ months of the year, I love to make the most of my summer wardrobe (and put as many miles on my open-toed shoes as possible!) while the weather cooperates! SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK

Friends and fashionistas, I’m elated to finally share my SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK with you! Despite a few delays due to our crazy weather (believe it or not, it snowed in Calgary just a few weeks ago!) we finally wrapped up shooting earlier this month and I’ve since been hard at work creating this seasonally inspired, sartorial guide for the modern woman. My 12 outfit LOOKBOOK features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings over the last couple of months and as we transition into summer! As always, it’s complete with a healthy dose of seasonal trends and practical tips on how to wear them, mashed up with classic wardrobe staples and shoppable links at every pricepoint — including the inside scoop on the best sales of the season! It’s been a major labour of love and I hope it’s been worth the wait!

Now that summer is officially upon us (although there’s no end in sight to the rain here in Calgary!), many of us Canadian girls are finally packing away our boots and knits and pulling out our warm weather pieces from years past. I always like to take this time to clean out my closet, identify holes in my seasonal wardrobe, integrate a few updated basics and experiment with new trends. TRANSITIONAL STYLE STAPLES | WINTER TO SPRING 2019

The perpetual Extreme Cold Warning finally appears to have lifted here in Calgary — and with temperatures set to rise above O°C this weekend, visions of spring are dancing through my head! Although I typically enjoy dressing for whatever weather mother nature throws our way, after experiencing the 3rd coldest February on record, I’m must admit I’m really looking forward to spring. But because of our cooler, rather temperamental climate, realistically it will be a couple of months before bare legs and open-toed shoes are on the menu. So, what’s a girl to wear while she’s longing for spring but still experiencing wintery weather?!

While I absolutely love to experiment with integrating seasonal trends into my personal style, I also believe a wardrobe built on a foundation of quality basics is essential in order to do so. This fashion philosophy has inspired me to start a brand new series called STYLE STAPLES here at JustineCelina where I’ll be sharing my most worn, most loved, workhorse wardrobe staples, season after season — the ones I would struggle to put outfits together without! Today we’re kicking things off with my favourite winter to spring transitional pieces for 2019 to help you navigate unpredictable weather in practical, stylish garments and accessories you can wear for years to come! This outfit formula works in both personal and professional settings with a few tweaks, flatters a wide range of body types and can be adapted to suit both warmer and cooler climates. WINTER 2019 LOOKBOOK

Beautiful people, I’m elated to share the first seasonal LOOKBOOK of 2019 here at JustineCelina! If you’re just tuning in and you didn’t catch my 2018 Review + 2019 Goals post last week, you may have missed the announcement that I’ll be producing one, 12 outfit LOOKBOOK seasonally this year to help inspire your sartorial choices — and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Although winter officially arrived about a month ago, we’re now in the heart of the season. Surprisingly, the weather here in Calgary has been very mild and relatively snow-free (most days have been above freezing!) — presenting some unique style options to a girl who’s used to making the most of our long, harsh Canadian winters!

With January sales in full effect and the onset of a new year, now is the perfect time to clean out your closet, identify holes in your wardrobe, get inspired and refine your personal style! As always, this LOOKBOOK features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings this season — a melange of high, low, old, new and vintage, along with tons of shoppable links at every price point! Although winter can be an uninspiring time for many in the FASHION department, I use cooler weather as an opportunity to experiment with cozy layers, sumptuous fabrics, unique textures, daring prints and a rich colour palette to create polished looks to take me from day to night. You’ll find cold weather classics intermixed with a sprinkling of this season’s hottest trends, colours and a hopeful nod to spring’s blooming arrival — there’s truly something for everyone.
