This Vintage Cocktail Party to collaborate on with a very talented group of creatives. It all began with Rebecca’s vision to recreate a festive holiday scene inspired by a vintage illustration. A woman trims her tree with roses in a pink 1950’s ball gown (with a handsome man in the background!). As soon as I saw the illustration, I knew we were going to have a blast creating our version of a holiday cocktail party.
A VINTAGE CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL PARTY
A unique colour palette of pink, navy and gold unified every detail of our celebration. Rebecca created the stunning floral arrangements, Alexandra styled the space in the spirit of holiday glam, Crave supplied the sweets, Uh Oh My Deer designed the invitations, Claire and Whitney beautified our models, and Gabe photographed our party on film to bring the vintage inspired look full circle.
I curated a vintage wardrobe for the ladies in bright pink and rich bronze hues, complimented by tailored suits and bow ties for the gents. There was definitely no shortage of glamour — glitzy clutches, pearls, cocktail rings and intricate headpieces accessorized each outfit. I knew that I wanted the hair and makeup looks for this shoot to be a bit unconventional to contrast the vintage wardrobe. Our models wore navy blue smokey eyes, soft pink lips, and braided, undone textures in the hair for a modernized but wearable look. Vintage linens, crystal, and silver were sourced to create an authentic feeling of 1950’s hospitality.
