I swear that every year, limited edition holiday beauty sets start hitting the market earlier and earlier! Today I’m reviewing the Bite Beauty Best Bite Rewind Set, which is limited edition for Holiday 2015. Bite Beauty is one of my favourite brands, they get a lot of love here at JustineCelina — all products are made with natural, food grade ingredients, and they’re Canadian. Each holiday season (or… in October!) I look forward to picking up one of their limited edition holiday sets to try their new shades — and this set definitely does not disappoint! It contains four deluxe-size Mini Matte Crème Lip Crayons in the shades Café, Torte, Coulis and Aubergine (which are all exclusive to this set, except Aubergine) housed in a beautiful holiday tin. Currently, it’s IN STOCK online at sephora.com, and there are quite a few available in-store.
If you’re new to the brand, here’s a little rundown from sephora.com:
Bite Beauty products are free of polybutenes, sulfates, and petroleum byproducts. The lips-only collection is certified gluten-free and made with food-grade ingredients, without sacrificing pigmentation or performance.
I really love this set from Bite — it’s a great way to try limited edition shades in a popular formula from the brand — whether you’re new to Bite, or are already a fan. This set is also a perfect for gifting! Each Mini Matte Crème Lip Crayon contains 0.31 oz of product, which is a nice deluxe sample size. The set retails for C $29.00.
The shades in this set are equally pigmented, and universally flattering — a perfect spectrum of colours to wear from fall into winter. Café is described as a peachy-brown nude, Torte is brown-toned rose, Coulis is a blue-based raspberry red, and Aubergine is an eggplant (it’s also the only non-exclusive shade to the set, so if you must have it, you can purchase it separately here). I absolutely love the smell and taste of Bite Beauty products — they taste lightly sweet and smell exactly like rockets (yeah, the candy!). Neither the taste or smell are overpowering, and fade during wear.
The finish of all four of these pencils is more satin then matte, and they’re all nicely hydrating. If you’re wanting to try a matte lipstick, but find liquid lipstick too drying, these would be a nice alternative. Each of the shades wore for about 5 – 6 hours on me before fading and leaving a bit of a stain behind. I actually had a hard time removing the swatches from my arm!
Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Café
Café is described as a peachy-brown nude. On me it’s a peach nude with pink undertones. I think this is a really flatterning nude — it gives your lips a bit of warmth, and isn’t too light.

Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Torte
Torte is medium, brown-toned rose. I love this shade! A perfect marsala, and right on trend for Autumn / Winter 2015. This would be a great everyday shade!

Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Coulis
Coulis is a beautiful, raspberry red. It’s such a rich, sensuous shade! It also makes your teeth look really white. This would be a perfect red to try if you’re intimidated by red lipstick — it’s very easy to wear.

Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Aubergine
Aubergine is a described as an eggplant shade, but on me it pulls a bit warmer. It’s a strangely wearable, deep plum shade — I see myself wearing this a lot when I want a vampy autumn lip. Again, it’s also the only non-exclusive shade to the set, so if you must have it, you can purchase it separately here. I’m also wearing it in this photo, to give you an idea of how it looks in completely different light (outside on an overcast day).

Keep in mind that these shades will look totally different on different skin tones. For reference, I have light / medium skin with warm, yellow undertones — I’m a MAC NC 30.

I’ll be reviewing a few other holiday beauty products over the next little while, so keep you eyes peeled for those! What beauty products are you lusting after this holiday season? They are Canadian!? DOUBLE LOVE! Can’t wait to get my hands on some! 🙂
Hey Kelly! Yes, they are. I absolutely love BITE — I have lots of other reviews on other products here on the blog. If you end up grabbing this set, or anything else from the brand, definitely let me know how you like it! BITE makes gorgeous products, and some of my all time favourite lipsticks.

Just bought these on a whim at my local Sephora the other day without actually trying them on. All these shades look FABULOUS on you and now I’m excited to try them out!
Hey Tina! Thanks for the sweet comment and for stopping by. 🙂 I don’t think you can really go wrong with Bite Beauty, especially this set! I’m sure you’ll love them, I’ve been burning through mine since I bought them. The Aubergine shade even made it into my Best in Beauty | October post!

Hello, so I fell IN LOVE with the coulis but I only found out about Sephora just after christmas. So now I can’t get my hands on it and I DESPERATELY want it! Do you km now anywhere I can find it???
Hey Melissa! It’s such a gorgeous shade, isn’t it? Unfortunately it was exclusive to this set for Holiday 2015, meaning that you can’t purchase it separately now. You can always try their High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate though, it’s a very similar shade in the same formula. 🙂
[…] This is another one of my favourite limited edition sets from Bite — perfect for those who prefer a more matte finish to their lip products. The Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon formula is another one of my all-time-favourites and I’ve mentioned (and worn) it many times here at JustineCelina. This year, Bite is offering four bold, deluxe-size shades in their signature holiday tin — including Truffle, Red Velvet, Orchid, Fraise, which are all new shades to me, but they’re absolutely stunning. Looking for a more in-depth review of the Matte Crème Lip Crayon formula? Check out this post. […]
