My love of fragrance extends as far back as early childhood. I’m sure most of us remember watching our mothers perched at their vanities, applying perfume — the finishing touch that completed their transformation. I was always enthralled by that process, even as a young girl. Fragrance has always had a special allure for me and over the years I’ve collected quite a few favourites. In my eyes, there’s nothing more feminine or sophisticated than a captivating scent. Even on more natural days, I always apply a fragrance in the morning — it’s a luxurious part of my routine that helps set the tone for my day. The right fragrance always gives me a burst confidence and makes me feel empowered!
In my AUTUMN / WINTER 2016 FRAGRANCE EDIT, I’m sharing my all-time-favourite cool weather fragrances — you know, the ones that pair well with cozy sweaters, red wine and a toasty fireplace? Like fashion, beauty and food, I also transition my fragrance along with the seasons. During the summertime I tend to favour crisp, clean, fruity scents — but bring on the drama during the autumn and winter! My favourite cool weather fragrances are deep, comforting and warm. Many of my choices are unisex, so you can share them with your partner (what’s sexier than that?), or keep them all to yourself. Dive into my comprehensive guide to ten of-the-moment fragrances available at Sephora Canada from Elizabeth & James, Mason Margiela, ToykoMilk Dark and newcomer Derek Lam — including holiday gift ideas!
Welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites post! This July I fell in love with a gorgeous new summer fragrance from Givenchy, discovered a budget friendly liquid eyeliner that rivals my high end favourite, wore my new Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks to death and found the perfect coral lip liner to go with them! It was a pretty low-key month for be beauty wise and I tended towards pairing bolder lip colors with a simple winged eye — which is one of my favourite summer looks. I also used my favourite eyeshadows from Makeup Geek almost everyday! If you’re looking for great summer beauty and fragrance recommendations, stay tuned for a healthy mix of drugstore and high end discoveries. I also take you along to Givenchy’s Art of Perfumery presentation at Anju!

November was a pretty low-key month for me, beauty wise. I discovered a few new products, but in colours that I know work for me. Otherwise, I’ve been sticking to what I know — which is what tends to happen when I’m super busy. In November I got my glow on, rediscovered my signature winter scent, found a game changing pair of tweezers, an eyeshadow that makes simple smokey eyes a breeze, a no fuss nude lipstick for winter, and the most flattering liquid lipstick, ever! I also picked up a bunch of new products (yep… definitely took advantage of the Sephora VIB Sale!), so get ready for lots of holiday beauty posts, coming to JustineCelina soon!
1. Tweezerman Pink Perfection Slant Tweezer | 2. Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Boy Band | 3. Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Pure Perfume Oil | 4. Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Mix & Mingle Duo in Pepper/Café | 5. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Instigator | 6. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette
July was the month of lip products! I wore lots of different lip colours last month and generally kept things light on the eyes — one of my favourite summer looks is a bright lip with a simple eye and winger liner. Most of my favourite products last month were things that I’ve loved for a long time and rediscovered, or products I’ve rotated in for the summer because they contain SPF (try to get your SPF in wherever you can, ladies!). I also stumbled on a couple of new products — one extremely beautiful highlighter, and a limited edition edition lipstick exclusively for Canadians that smells and tastes like Maple syrup! Cozy up with me on this stormy night in Calgary and let’s chat beauty!
I gravitated towards bright, warm hues during the month of June! Since I’ve been doing a lot of sunless tanning this month, my favourite products look great on medium and tan summer skintones. One of my all time favourite looks is a bright lip with tan skin and a clean cat eye — I wore a bright lip pretty much everyday I wore makeup. My love affair with Colourpop continued, and I also have two favourites from Becca this month. I went back to my all-time favourite liquid eyeliner (which makes it super easy to achieve a perfect winged liner, I promise!). Get ready for a healthy dose of summer beauty recommendations!
Hey guys! Today I’m sharing April’s most loved beauty products. Overall, I was into cooler tones (which is strange for me!). Since I have warm colouring and green eyes, I tend to favour warm colours on both the eyes and lips — last month I gravitated towards purples and cooler neutrals overall. I also played around with lots of different eye looks, eyeliner and eyeshadow. Let’s chat beauty!
