FEBRUARY 2020 SOUNDTRACK

In search of some fresh tunes as we transition into spring? I’m back with another Monthly Soundtrack for your listening pleasure today — featuring my usual eclectic melange of genres and artists with a chill, easy-listening vibe. Much like love month, my February 2020 Soundtrack is short n’ sweet with just shy of a hour and a half of my most recent musical discoveries. There was a lot of behind the scenes work happening here at JustineCelina this month as I got back into a content creation rhythm after vacation — and this 23 track playlist is what kept me feeling inspired and motivated!

Because of the curated nature of this month’s soundtrack, nearly ever song featured this month has been on heavy rotation. That said, blackbear’s me & ur ghost, Lane 8’s Just, Tim Legend’s Late Pickup Station, everything from Tycho’s Outer Sunset, Attom & Frye’s Way You Move, Austeria’s The Shimmering, SUMif’s Collide, Billie Eilish’s No Time To Die, Arizona Zervas ROXANNE and Bombay Bicycle Club’s Eat Sleep Wake (Nothing But You) were on repeat for days! Whether you stream my February 2020 Soundtrack directly from the embedded player in this post or come join me on Spotify, I hope you enjoy it!

NOVEMBER 2019 SOUNDTRACK

Music lovers, I’m back today with a fresh Monthly Soundtrack for your listening pleasure! My November 2019 Soundtrack is a laid back, easy listening playlist brimming with 2 hours of eclectic and inspiring tunes spanning genres that have been fuelling my creative endeavours this month! I’m also still on a bit of a jazz kick — there’s something about cold weather and the approaching holiday season makes jazz sound so good (especially in front of the fireplace with a glass of your favourite libation!). As 2019 winds down I’ve been busy finishing up various projects while gearing up for the holiday season — and I’ve had this playlist on heavy rotation. It makes for great thinking, creating, writing, relaxing and entertaining music!

While I discovered tons of new artists and albums this month, Bahari’s Gameboy, boxboy’s i should probably get moving, The Hails Stay, Handsome Ghost’s Blood Stutter, the Savior Adore remix of Japanese Wallpaper’s Fooling Around, Akira The Don and Jordan Peterson’s Clean Up Your Room, Kasbo and Lizzy Land’s I Get You, Verzache’s I Don’t Wanna Be Nothin’, UTAH and Jacob Steele’s I Found You, Saavan’s Remember, Houses Fast Talk, Boojie Belgique’s Everytime, Maggie Rogers Love You For a Long Time, Andrew Applepie’s 11:11, Luna Shadow’s practice, EXES With Fire, Handbook’s Forgiveness, Blonde Maze’s The Kite, Saib’s Yoko, Kays and Akacia’s Dirty Heaven were my most played tracks. Thanks for stopping by to listen — and enjoy your Saturday, friends!

HOW TO TRANSITION YOUR DECOR INTO FALL

Autumn is in full swing here in Calgary — have you started to transition your decor along with the seasons? If you’re anything like me, as you transition your wardrobe into fall to reflect our changing landscape and cooler temperatures, you also crave that same change in your home. Although I think it’s important to keep things fresh and be inspired by your environment (especially as a creative or someone who works from home), it’s certainly not practical to be shopping for entirely new decor with every season change! Today’s post is dedicated to simple, inexpensive ideas you can implement in your own home to Transition Your Decor Into Fall — all while drawing inspiration from fresh sources and making use of what you already own.

I started slowly collecting inspiration for our Fall Living Room Update and bringing autumn into our home in mid September. The weather had started to shift and the trees had started to yellow — and I was in full on fall planning mode (I even created a Pinterest board!). But the timing I had in mind didn’t work out as planned — I had to park the Living Room update to finish up our Entrance Way (this next instalment in our SPACE REFRESH series is now live!) — and this is where we’ve ended up. But rather than waiting to publish our Fall Living Room Update in one big reveal, I’ve decided to share our decor in transition to show you that you don’t have to make drastic changes (or spend a lot!) to make a big impact. If you’re searching for some cozy, autumnal decor inspiration this weekend, fix yourself a chai latte (or perhaps a glass of scotch?) and come curl up in my Living Room for all my best transitional decorating tips!

MIDSUMMER SPACE REFRESH UPDATE

Interior design loving friends, welcome back for a long overdue SPACE REFRESH update! If you read my 2018 Review + 2019 Goals post, you’ll know that I had planned to have the next rooms in the series completed by now — but due to some unforeseen delays and unexpected (but necessary!) repairs, things have been pushed back. I realized last week that I’ve been pretty good about updating you about what’s going on on my socials, but the majority of you don’t follow me there, so I wanted to publish an all-encompassing Midsummer Space Refresh Update here at JustineCelina to bring you up to speed!

Overall, even though the next rooms in our  have taken longer than expected due to some furniture delays, I’m very happy with the way things are coming together. Originally I was planning to have both the Entrance Way and Main Bathroom complete by the end of Q2, but due to a couple of furniture items being back ordered until the end of September, I’m now planning to have both of those spaces finished this fall. Instead, I’ve used the extra time to source finishing details to really elevate both rooms and make them super functional! It’s actually been a welcome change of pace to take things a bit slower around here, enjoy the summer, and not be working on the apartment every single weekend. If you’re interested in what’s coming next, updates and repairs we’ve made to the other rooms and plans for the rest of the year, fix yourself a cocktail and come join me in my Living Room for a transparent read!

If you’re in need of some fresh tunes to decorate your long weekend adventures, my July 2019 Soundtrack is ready for streaming! APRIL 2019 SOUNDTRACK

Despite best laid plans, April always seems to be our busiest month. Although I’m committed to my goal of 5+ blog posts monthly in 2019 (read more about my goals and what I’ve been working on BTS), things have been quiet here at JustineCelina since mid-month — and for good reason! Between tax season (I went to art school, but thankfully Adam is an accountant!), tail ends of client projects, Easter and a lot of planning for upcoming partnerships, the past 2 weeks have been incredibly busy. I had a few posts scheduled, but it was a much more productive use of time to prioritize the business side of things while staying on top of my health and wellness (I’ve also still managed 3+ workout per week!). There were a lot of late nights and early mornings this month with ultra chill, relaxing, ambient tunes streaming through my speakers — and I’ve channeled them all into my April 2019 Soundtrack!

Without a doubt, this is definitely the chillest playlist I’ve ever published. I’m constantly listening to music while I work away — reading, writing, editing, planning, designing, photographing, conceptualizing (and list goes on!). This is why I gravitate towards music that encourages creative thought with minimal lyrics — and I discovered tons of new Spotify playlists to help keep my mind calm and focused. I’ve pulled my favourite tracks into this mellow, feel-good, 55 track playlist — if you’ve got a massive to-do list to tackle and are looking for some inspiring tunes to decorate your time, this soundtrack is for you!
