DECEMBER SOUNDTRACK + BONUS 2016 SOUNDTRACK

To celebrate the last day of 2016, I have not one, but two fresh playlists for you today! First up, my December Soundtrack is a short and sweet playlist featuring 38 of my favourite tracks from the month — including standouts from St. South, Kultur, Trent Dabbs, Luunes, Freedom Fly, Micah Visser, Los Campesinos!, Zhu, San Holo, Saint Mesa and Celadon City. It’s an eclectic mash up of different genres that sounded good to my ears this month, with quite a few instrumental tracks thrown into the mix!

Spotify also compiled 2016 Soundtrack automatically for me earlier this month, highlighting my most played songs from 2016 (how cool is that?!) — and I have to say it’s pretty solid! If you’re looking for some great music to decorate the last hours of 2017 today, or my top recommendations for the best tracks of 2016, this playlist is for you. Whether you’re hosting or attending a party, heading out, or spending a quiet night in, I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve! FESTIVE VEGAN SALAD WITH CRANBERRY DIJON VINAIGRETTE

Do you have a plant based eater or vegan attending your dinner party this season, but have absolutely no idea what to feed them?! Relax, my friends — I have just the recipe! The best part about my Festive Vegan Salad with Cranberry Dijon Vinaigrette is that I bet you have most (if not all) these ingredients already stocked in your kitchen for the holidays. This festive medley of fruits and veggies is hearty, satisfying and loved by herbivores, omnivores and carnivores alike. It’s the ultimate no-fuss addition to any dinner table this season!

AL FRESCO SUMMER DINING INSPIRATION

One of my favourite things about summer is spending time in the serenity of country and getting outside. I welcome any chance to dine al fresco (meaning: in the open air) and today I’m walking you through how I pulled together this unique outdoor dinner party on a budget. This earthy, upscale celebration is inspired by the Easy Vegan White Mushroom Pizzas on the Grill I created for The Food Bloggers of Canada to celebrate outdoor summer entertaining!

Tonight I’m sharing my insider tips for creating and styling memorable gatherings — from my favourite sources for inexpensive entertaining essentials, to foraging for unique pieces in the prairies, to a simple copper-themed DIY. I also chat about the gorgeous (but budget friendly) Rebecca Dawn Design florals, inspired by the wild beauty of our Canadian summers. BITE BEAUTY AMUSE BOUCHE LIPSTICKS PHOTOS, REVIEW, SWATCHES

It’s been awhile since I reviewed some new products from one of my favourite high end makeup brands Bite Beauty. So today I’m excited to bring you a review of 3 summery shades from their most recent launch — the Amuse Bouche Lipstick range. If you’re not familiar with Bite, they’re a Canadian lip-exclusive brand who’s products are made with natural, food grade ingredients that are actually good for your lips. Bite Beauty used to make my all time favourite lipstick formula, the Luminous Crème Lipsticks. I also introduced so many of you to Bite products last year — I love it when you leave comments, send me messages or tag me in photos wearing my product recommendations!

Imagine my dismay when I heard Bite was discontinuing the Luminous Crème Lipsticks earlier this year (do anyone else’s favourite products always seem to get discontinued?!). When I discovered they were replacing the Luminous Crème Lipsticks with a new lipstick line called Amuse Bouche I was intrigued — and a bit skeptical, to be honest! I’m happy to report that I love Bite’s Amuse Bouche Lipsticks just as much (if not a little better!) than their predecessor, my beloved Luminous Crème Lipsticks.
