AHI TUNA POKE BOWLS WITH CITRUS PONZU + SRIRACHA AIOLI

To say I went poke crazy in Vancouver this spring would be a major understatement. Typically, I don’t eat meat very often (I’m actually not vegan, although I eat that way about 90% of the time and have included a vegan option in this recipe) — but anytime I travel, I love to immerse myself in local cuisine. It’s such a treat to be able to indulge in fresh seafood on the coast! After making one too many poke runs when I landed back home in Alberta, I decided to take matters into my own hands and develop a recipe for the ultimate gluten and dairy free poke bowls at home! My Ahi Tuna Poke Bowls with Citrus Ponzu & Sriracha Aioli are an explosion of traditional Japanese flavours infused with a west coast vibe and all the fixings — a mashup of sustainable, sashimi grade ahi tuna, avocado, carrot, cucumber, mango and grilled asparagus adorn a bed of organic brown rice and tender greens, topped with a scratch made, Gluten Free Citrus Ponzu, drizzled with Sriracha Garlic Aioli and garnished with roasted sesame seeds, nori and scallions. They’re even better than the poke bowls I fell in love with by the sea!

I’ve partnered with Inspired Greens to bring you a lightened up version of the classic poke bowl where I’ve used a blend of Inspired Greens MultiLeaf Trio and organic brown rice as the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl base. If you follow along with my adventures over on Instagram, you may remember their beautiful bouquet of Alberta grown living lettuce from earlier this summer — and as someone who’s passionate about local, plant based eats, I’m elated to continue working Inspired Greens and officially introduce you here at JustineCelina. Their greens add a fresh, flourishing texture and gourmet flair to these summer friendly poke bowls — they’re also a breeze to work with, helping to reduce meal prep time!

ICED COCONUT GINGER MATCHA LATTE

If you follow along with my Insta Stories, you’ve likely seen me sipping away on my fair share of iced matcha lattes this summer! As someone who works from home most of the time, I’ve concocted quite a few homemade latte recipes over the years — but since they’re so simple I always thought they weren’t worth sharing here at JustineCelina. When I snapped a quick photo of my afternoon Iced Coconut Ginger Matcha Latte a few weeks ago, I was totally surprised by the response (who knew my most requested recipe to date would be a homemade latte?). Well — ask and you shall receive, my friends! If you have 5 minutes and 5 ingredients, you too can enjoy these refreshing iced lattes in the comfort of your own home.

Today I’m thrilled to be partnering with Kiwami Greens (a plant based, nutrient-rich Japanese vegetable powder) to bring you my Iced Coconut Ginger Matcha Latte — a tea latte infused with superfood ingredients to power your day with clean energy. Although delicious, traditional matcha lattes can be time consuming to prepare and require special tools, but my Iced Coconut Ginger Matcha Lattes truly couldn’t be easier. I believe you can nourish yourself and treat yourself at the same time — and this powerhouse matcha latte is a healthy indulgence you can feel great about. Creamy coconut milk, fresh ginger, exotic coconut nectar and filtered water combine over ice with Kiwami Greens — a smooth, rich blend of meticulously selected Japanese vegetables, green tea and prebiotics. I’ve been enjoying variations of this Iced Coconut Ginger Matcha Latte almost daily for the past few weeks and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with you! Continue Reading

SPRING VEGETABLE STIRFRY WITH COCONUT GINGER TOFU (WILD ROSE D-TOX FRIENDLY!)

Do you remember when we did the Wild Rose D-Tox back in March? If you were following along on Insta Stories, I shared (almost) every meal I made during those 12 days. You may also remember me raving about how incredible our Day 1 dinner was — well, today I’m finally sharing the recipe for my Spring Vegetable Stirfry with Coconut Ginger Tofu with you!

Initially this recipe it was a team effort, with both of us tossing ideas around and throwing things in the pan while this stirfry came together. And we both couldn’t stop eating it! It was the best recipe to come out of our D-Tox. Since the premade sauces and condiments I would typically use in a stiryfry-style dish (think soy sauce, fish sauce, peanut butter, etc.) weren’t permitted, we went in a completely different direction! The result was a colourful medley of spring vegetables in a coconut milk-based sauce — flavoured with garlic, ginger, lime and simple pantry spices ontop of a bed of brown rice, finished with toasted almonds for some extra crunch and protein. In my quest for nut based milks with a D-Tox friendly ingredient lists (not an easy feat, my friends!), I found Almond Breeze’s Unsweetened Almond Coconut Beverage and am thrilled to be partnering with Almond Breeze again today to bring you my Spring Vegetable Stirfry with Coconut Ginger Tofu! It’s totally Wild Rose D-Tox friendly and it’s also totally delicious, even if you’re not doing a detox. This easy to prepare, unconventional spring stirfry is light, clean and nourishing — perfect for weeknight dinners!

As a hummus lover, I’m thrilled to be partnering with Sabra Canada to bring you my Mediterranean Rainbow Buddha Bowl today! MARC JACOBS BEAUTY LE MARC LIQUID LIP CRÉME REVIEW & SWATCHES

It’s rare that I publish dedicated review posts, but every once in awhile I fall so hard for a product that I know I just have to share it with all of you! Such is the case with the Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crèmes — a newer range of comfortable (yes, really), lightweight, ultra pigmented, extremely luxurious liquid lipsticks. Sound too good to be true? I promise you, it isn’t. You may remember me introducing them to you initially in my Spring 2017 Beauty Trend Guide — and since then, I’ve become completely smitten!

This weekend I’ve partnered with Sephora Canada to bring you a comprehensive review of the entire Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème range. If we’ve hung out in person over the past couple of months and you’ve asked me about my lipstick, chances are I’ve been wearing one of these (I’ve been purposely keeping them out of my Monthly Beauty Favourites posts so that I could share them all with you in this dedicated review!). Each shade from the range is absolutely stunning, consistently formulated and just easy to wear. We all know how obsessed I am with blush, peach and neutral tones this spring and these liquid lips are a neutral lovers dream! Each of these 6 shades are perfectly on trend for the season, yet wearable year round. If you’ve always wanted to try a liquid lipstick but thought they’d be too drying or simply not for you, I might just change your mind with these innovative lip crèmes from Marc Jacobs Beauty. They’re my top recommendation for anyone looking to invest in a luxury liquid lipstick this season! Continue Reading

VANCOUVER TRAVEL GUIDE

I spent a few days in the Vancouver area last month — and today I’ve partnered with American Tourister to share my first ever TRAVEL GUIDE here at JustineCelina! I’ve traveled with Samsonite luggage for many years, so when their sister brand American Tourister got in touch last month, I jumped at the opportunity to test drive a piece of luggage from the range. This fun iLite Max 25″ Spinner was the perfect travel companion on this whirlwind trip to the west coast!

Anytime I visit a new destination, I’m asked for my list of must sees and do’s from the area and have always compiled a list of recommendations — ready to send out for anyone who requests one. Since I’m asked for these recommendations often, in 2017 I’ll be sharing this type of content here at JustineCelina, embracing the opportunity to make my TRAVEL GUIDES more comprehensive and easily accessible. See the Vancouver area through my eyes today as I share packing tips and trip highlights — including my favourite neighborhoods, restaurants, coffee shops, wine and spirit recommendations, shopping hotspots, off the beaten path locales, quirky boutiques and a day trip to the island (I’m even taking you along to a cookbook launch!).
