I couldn’t be happier that spring is officially here, so today I’m sharing my top 10 spring style staples and beauty tips! Year after year, there are a few pieces and colours I always look forward to incorporating in my spring wardrobe and beauty routine. While styles change and we see updated versions of key items each season, my quintessential spring style and beauty staples are actually pretty consistent. That said, spring is also a time where I feel super inspired to branch out and try new things, and that definitely filters through into my personal style! My spring style staples are a mixture of tried and true pieces and silhouettes — freshened up with trendy details, colours and accessories. Here’s what’s on my hit list for Spring 2016!

DRAGON FRUIT BUBBLE TEA SMOOTHIE

When I was at the Asian market last week, I was in awe of the bubble tea selection. There must have been over 50 varieties on the menu! Taiwanese bubble tea is something I love as a treat occasionally, but I know it’s full of less than desirable ingredients and tons of processed sugar. So I decided to create a bubble tea inspired smoothie at home with the beautiful dragon fruit I picked up at the market! My Dragon Fruit Bubble Tea Smoothie is full of healthy, nourishing ingredients, vitamins and antioxidants. I like to enjoy it post-workout because it’s also loaded with clean, plant-based protein. A delicious chia seed pudding base mimics the texture of the black tapioca pearls usually seen in bubble tea, while a spring-inspired combination of dragon fruit, banana, mango, strawberry and creamy Vanilla Almond Breeze gives the smoothie its natural sweetness and soft pink hue. DIY | DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS

Feeling crafty this weekend? Today I’m showing you how to rough up a pair of denim to achieve the distressed look we’re seeing everywhere this spring! The best part about distressing a pair of jeans you currently own is the denim is already perfectly worn in — and you can totally customize it to your preference! I’ve owned this pair of jeans for about 6 years, but they’re a little too short for me to wear with heels, so I figured I’d get a lot more wear out of them if I distressed them and cropped them a bit. Voila — now I have the perfect pair of spring boyfriends, and I’ve been wearing them constantly! You only need about an hour and a few tools to complete this DIY (and you probably have the tools at home)! BEST IN BEAUTY | MAY 2015

It’s that time of the month again (well, not that time of the month… but you know what I mean)! May was a mix of new finds and old favourites that I rediscovered — and they’re mostly at a drugstore price point. I also attended a few parties and weddings this month, and finally found the perfect lashes and lash glue! I felt like wearing cooler purple tones, smokey eyes and soft lips a lot — but I also had some fun with colour. Get comfy, pour yourself a cup of tea, and let’s chat beauty!

MAY SOUNDTRACK

There are so many new tracks I’ve had on repeat this month! I’m super excited about the new Metric single, and stuff from a couple of new artists I discovered in May. This playlist will always remind me of my first trip to New York (I visited NYC earlier this month — blog posts coming soon!), so the album cover this month was taken at the top of the Rockefeller Center, overlooking Central Park at dusk.
