There are so many new tracks I’ve had on repeat this month! I’m super excited about the new Metric single, and stuff from a couple of new artists I discovered in May. This playlist will always remind me of my first trip to New York (I visited NYC earlier this month — blog posts coming soon!), so the album cover this month was taken at the top of the Rockefeller Center, overlooking Central Park at dusk. I hope you enjoy my May Soundtrack!

I’m working on a couple of in-depth New York posts, but in the meantime I thought it would be fun to share some images of The Bushwick Collective I snapped while visiting Brooklyn. This is a large-scale street art project at the corner of Troutman Street and St. Nicholas Avenue curated by Joseph Ficalora, a longtime Bushwick resident. Art and design lovers, get ready for some serious eye candy!
We spent last Sunday exploring the Grassi Lakes area just outside of Canmore, Alberta nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It’s a beautiful short hike with two crystal clear, shallow lakes at the top of the trail. I wanted to get out with my new lens and do some adventuring before New York, so here’s a collection of my favourite images from the day.
For today’s post I wanted to try something a little different. As an art director and designer, I’m always looking for texture, colour, shape and pattern in imagery — most of the time I don’t even realize it, it’s just something my mind is naturally conditioned to do. So I thought I would post a collection of images from my trip to the Pacific Northwest that I find texturally interesting.
Let me start off by saying that I’m a bit of a wino! I like to try different local wines when I’m traveling and add bottles from around the world to my (ever dwindling) collection. When I was in Oregon, I wanted to head out to Williamette Valley to do some vineyard touring — I love Oregon Pinot Noir — but was running short on time. Since I wasn’t able to visit wine country, I stopped into an urban winery in SE Portland called ENSO instead.
I’ve been really into music, well… for as long as I can remember! So every month, I’m going to make a playlist here on JustineCelina — a monthly soundtrack featuring fifteen songs that have been on heavy rotation in my music library. My March Soundtrack is full of some pretty chill, feel good, alternative tunes.
