Calgarians — can you believe this beautiful fall weather we’re experiencing?! I honestly can’t remember the last time we had such a gorgeous autumn. To celebrate October’s balmy arrival, Rebecca Dawn Design and I are continuing our Indian summer inspired theme in this edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS. Our 3 flower-based designs this month feature a rich, inviting palette complimented by natural, bohemian elements styled with a free-spirited touch.
Stunning crimson dahlias and astilbe are arranged with wild grasses to evoke lingering memories of warm autumn days spent exploring nature. October’s Digital Blooms include Dalihas, Amaranthus, Millet, Panicum, Astilbe and Riceflower — if you’d like to learn more about these seasonal flowers and how to care for them, check out our Introduction to Autumn Flowers. I hope you enjoyed the October edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS! Which design was your favourite? If you’d like to learn more about autumn flowers, be sure to head over to our Introduction to Autumn Flowers post where Rebecca created this stunning arrangement and we chat about what’s in season, how to identify flowers, what to look for when purchasing, as well as how to care for and condition them.
If you’re looking for some entertaining inspiration with a gorgeous, inexpensive centrepiece, you’re in luck! Rebecca and I incorporated these blooms into our Al Fresco Summer Dining Inspiration post, where I share my tips for hosting dinner parties on a budget, along with my favourite sources for decor and entertaining essentials.
If you’re into wildflowers, Rebecca and I also foraged the prairies in August month and she created an absolutely stunning, 100% foraged (read: free!) wildflower bouquet. Hop over to that post to learn more about foraging and come spend a peaceful afternoon on the Alberta prairies with us.

I chose the first one and changed the one I had for September. Love your flowery wallpapers! Thanks Justine!
Awesome — so happy you’re enjoying the series, Nicoletta!
What a great idea! These are incredible. I might have to download a few. xo
You’re so sweet Erica, thank you! We’re so glad you like them — we publish our Digital Blooms the 1st of every month, so be sure to check back on November 1st for a fresh batch. 😉
These are so lovely!! I set the last one as desktop wallpaper. This is such a neat idea. Do you happen to have a favourite?
Thanks so much, Brittany! I’m partial to the first design this month. It’s currently on all my devices! It’s always nice to see some new faces around here — welcome. 🙂 I’m going to pop over and check out your blog now. Happy Thanksgiving!
Lovely as always! I love the beautiful fall bouquet at the bottom of your post…it’s gorgeous!
Thanks for popping by, Kimberly! That’s a wildflower bouquet made from foraged blooms (and weeds!) in prairies earlier this summer. I’m always amazed at what Rebecca can create!
Beautiful stuff! They’re all gorgeous (as usual!) but I’m particularly partial to Design 2. I love the tight composition, and the nearly 2-dimensional look of the bouquet (it really makes those dahlias pop). I also like the clean minimalism of it, especially as a background on a desktop!
Thanks for the feedback, Sean! It’s so interesting that everyone has a different favourite. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!
So beautiful as always, Justine! I love #1, it spoke to my style and I downloaded it right away, to replace your equally lovely September bouquet. Thanks so much!
#1 is my favourite this month, too. Happy Thanksgiving, Colleen! 🙂
