You guys, Colourpop did it again! If you’ve been with me for awhile you’ll know how much I love Colourpop Cosmetics — an innovative, affordable, cruelty-free makeup brand hailing from L.A. Last spring when their first line of liquid lipsticks launched, I loved them so much that I did a dedicated review post. And while I do still love the original Ultra Matte Lips, the liquid lipstick world has blown up over the last year — formulas have been perfected, colour ranges have expanded, and brands are really listening to what consumers are looking for. So, when I heard Colourpop launched an Ultra Satin Lip formula that was supposed to by less drying, you know I had to try it out! 2015 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

If you read any of my beauty posts, read this one! Today I’m rounding up all my 2015 beauty favourites in one post. If you’ve been with me for awhile, you know I absolutely love makeup, playing with beauty products, and experimenting with different looks. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything — and I’m definitely very particular when it comes to what I use and like. BEST IN BEAUTY | AUGUST 2015

Can you believe it’s September already? It seems like this summer was shorter than most, so I’m excited to bring you one last dose of summer beauty inspiration today! August is all about sunflowers for me, so I used them to style today’s post — they’re just so bright and happy, aren’t they?! This was a busy month for me, with lots of travel, so all of these products are convenient and long wearing.

There are also a few new products I discovered — including the best mascara I’ve ever tried, a great dry shampoo for brunettes, an amazing mattifying powder that makes you look like a walking Instagram filter, and the lip gloss shade we all wore for Kelsey’s lakeside wedding! It wouldn’t be a favourites post without a few Colourpop products — and they’re having a sale right now (they never have sales)!

Today I’m chatting about my latest beauty obsession — the new Ultra Matte Lips from Colourpop! Currently there are 33 shades available, and I decided to pick up 10 from the range to try out. Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lips retail at $6.00 USD for 0.11 oz., just a fraction of the cost of their high-end counterparts. Lately, it seems like every brand is coming out with their version of a liquid lipstick, and I’m generally a fan of liquid lipstick formulas — they dry to a flat matte finish and are super long wearing. If you’re a lipstick lover (or want to learn more about liquid lipstick) this post is for you! I also have a review of 10 shades from the Ultra Satin Lip range.
