JUNE 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey beautiful people — welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites! June was a fun month here at JustineCelina, packed with events, roadtrips, and absolutely gorgeous weather. Summer has definitely arrived in Calgary and I’ve been taking every opportunity I can to get outside and enjoy it! In June I experimented with a lot of seasonal trends in the beauty department and really pushed the boundaries of what type of what type of products I incorporated into my routine. It creative month for me beauty wise — and it was a blast!

If you’re so over spring pastels and nudes, this post is for you! My June 2017 Beauty Favourites are bursting with vibrant hues and unconventional finishes and formulas. I have mini reviews on a little bit of everything today — a beautiful, compact, warm toned eyeshadow palette (which is actually a fantastic alternative to the in-and-out of stock Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette), my favourite mascara of the year (and it just happens to be under $7!), more Lancôme lip products, a delicious vegan shower cream, a neon red blush, an ultra fine makeup setting mist, a spray that makes your locks super shiny, a metallic rose gold polish with good-for-your-nail ingredients. SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE | KIMONO LOVE

Things I’m happy about today: it’s almost the long weekend, the weather is gorgeous, and I’m wearing a kimono! I’m not ashamed to admit I have 13 kimonos currently hanging in my closet — they’ve been my most worn summer item for as long as I can remember and I love to collect them (I even have a few vintage kimonos!). Naturally, I’m elated to bring you my first SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE today highlighting one of my favourite seasonal trends — luxe, loungewear inspired kimonos! Like ponchos, kimonos have always been a staple in my wardrobe, regardless of whether or not they’re particularly on trend that season.

Those of you who know me personally are probably used to seeing me in kimonos, especially during the warmer months. So, I used one of my favourite kimonos as a statement piece in today’s post and paired it up with a handful of summer trends — including bold botanical prints, fringe hem denim, mules, millennial pink, eyelet, tassels, circular cross body bags, hexagon sunglasses and sunset inspired makeup. I’ve also included tons of shoppable links and image carousels for you at every price point in today’s post — because hey, a girl’s gotta have options, am I right?! MAY 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Man it feels good to publish this May 2017 Beauty Favourites post! Since I spent a large part of March barefaced due to my finger injury and published my first ever completely makeup free Monthly Beauty Favourites post, this past month I really enjoyed experimenting with makeup again and discovered so many incredible new products. May was packed full of events (both blog related and personal) and I took every available opportunity to get my glam on — so you’ll find a healthy dose of glow and sparkle in my May beauty favourites! There’s range of products at affordable and luxury price points in today’s post — including a stunning rose gold highlighter (for less than $5!), my favourite lipsticks of the entire year, a bargain, go-with-anything nude lipliner, the perfect blush palette for a youthful spring flush, some extremely luxurious eyeshadows, a pastel lilac nail polish with nourishing ingredients and a metallic, glittery liquid eyeshadow!

There’s a strong peach, pink and rose gold theme in my favourites today — what can I say, I’ve been immersing myself in seasonal colour trends in full force! It’s been awhile since we chatted all things beauty, but you remember the drill, right? It’s Peony season and I bet you’re just as excited as we are! Peonies are some of our favourite flowers — so, to welcome the first month of summer here at JustineCelina, our June DIGITAL BLOOMS are dedicated to Peonies and flowering trees! DIY FLOATING SPRING CENTREPIECE

Many of us are bringing fresh flowers into our homes this spring — but despite our best care, all flowers eventually fade. Today I’ve teamed up with my friend and incredibly talented flower designer Rebecca Dawn Design to share an extremely simple (and extremely beautiful!) DIY Floating Spring Centrepiece — the perfect way to extend the life of blooms that are on their way out! All you need is a large serving bowl, fresh water and a handful of blooms — either repurposed from a less than youthful arrangement, or foraged from your garden! We’re covering everything you need to know to create a showstopping centrepiece to infuse any space with the fleeting beauty of spring blossoms — expert flower arranging skills not required.

You guessed it — we’re still drawing inspiration from Pantone’s spring palette and highlighting a melange of gorgeous spring blooms in soft shades of Pale Dogwood, Flame, Pink Yarrow, Hazelnut and (of course) a hint of the Colour of the Year for 2017, Greenery. SPICED STRAWBERRY WATERMELON GAZPACHO

The grass is green, the trees are blossoming (finally!) and I think that’s cause for celebration! If you’re looking to treat your taste buds to something refreshing after what was quite possibly the longest winter in Canadian history, embrace spring’s bountiful produce with my Spiced Strawberry Watermelon Gazpacho. This pretty, pink (yep, still riding that Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report wave), chilled soup is the perfect menu addition for your next spring soirée, baby or bridal shower, or anytime you’re hosting your girlfriends and want something fuss free, fresh and festive!

My Spiced Strawberry Watermelon Gazpacho is so simple, I almost can’t call it a recipe — but I’ve been meaning to publish this one since last summer! I popped over to Blushlane (a new organic market that just opened in my neighbourhood) on Friday and was so inspired by the beautiful strawberries, basil (I picked up a gorgeous basil plant… let’s hope I don’t kill it!) and mini watermelon that I knew I had to channel them into this recipe. With just 10 ingredients (seasonings and garnish included!) this fruity spin on traditional gazpacho comes together in just 10 minutes! SPRINGING FORWARD + SEASONAL WARDROBE STAPLES

I’m back today with the first of many Spring 2017 FASHION posts coming to JustineCelina — and it feels fantastic! Originally, this look was scheduled for last month, but shooting style content with a fully dressed finger was decidedly… less than glamorous. Now that I’ve healed up a bit I couldn’t wait to jump back in front of the camera (please excuse the Band-Aid!) and chat about some of my Seasonal Wardrobe Staples. It’s been a long winter on the Alberta prairies, but I think it’s safe to say spring has finally arrived!

If you’re looking to refresh your spring style with a few key pieces this season, I’ve totally got you covered today as we spring forward. Although this outfit definitely incorporates a few trends (keep your eyes peeled for several upcoming Spring 2017 TREND GUIDES!) it’s also comprised of spring wardrobe building blocks and updated basics.
