H&M WILDFLOWER COLLECTION REVIEW

Friends and fashionistas, I’m thrilled to share my first FASHION post of 2021 with you (it’s about time, isn’t it?!) dedicated to H&M‘s ultra dreamy A Meadow of Wildflowers Collection! Although my personal style and shopping habits have changed significantly as a result of the pandemic, I eagerly comprised my wishlist as soon as I saw previews of this collection pop up online last month. H&M‘s Wildflower Collection is a Spring 2021 release hailing from their Conscious range — featuring elegant, timeless silhouettes made from 100% organic cotton and linen, inspired by their print designers favourite wildflowers recreated in watercolour. Of all the limited edition collections H&M has released (many of which I’ve worn, loved and featured here at JustineCelina over the years!) this the collection of dreams for my free-spirited, art college educated, flower loving soul!

As soon as the (partial) collection arrived online in Canada, I ordered every piece on my wishlist available in my sizes. Shortly after their arrival, we spent an evening venturing around the stunning natural landscapes near my childhood home in rural Alberta capturing these images — and it felt incredible to get excited about shooting fashion content outdoors after a long winter! As of publication, many of these pieces are now sold out online — and some pieces on my wishlist also aren’t yet available online, but are available in store, so I suggest keeping an eye out for online restocks or using the in-store locator to source specific pieces near you. That said, I wanted to publish my dedicated H&M Wildflower Collection Review for you as soon as possible, so you can use it to inform your collection purchases! Accompany me to the sun drenched, wildflower laden fields of the Alberta prairies for my bohemian spin on the collection, styled up with spring and summer accessory staples. As always, this post is complete with shoppable links for both Canada and the US!

A PASTEL EASTER FLOWER ARRANGEMENT

Flower lovers, I’m elated to share a fresh post in my FLOWER EDUCATION series with you today — dedicated to this Pastel Easter Flower Arrangement! I actually ordered this charming spring arrangement from Meadow & Vine Floral for our first ever Easter Dinner for Two last year to bring some joy to our home during uncertain times. After after capturing about a thousand photos of it in all its beauty, I knew I wanted to bring this post to JustineCelina this spring to provide you with some cheerful Easter flower inspiration, too! Little luxuries in times like these bring me so much joy as I continue to support local businesses whenever possible — and I hope this post inspires you to do the same, in whatever capacity you’re able.

Whether you’re looking to recreate this arrangement for your Easter celebrations, bookmarking it as inspiration to share with your local florist for a springtime event or special occasion, or would like to educate yourself about spring flowers and arrangement care, you’ve come to the right place! This charming arrangement features a lovely array of my favourite spring blooms — including Quicksand and Spray Roses (learn all about Roses), Ranunculus and Butterfly Ranunculus (learn all about Ranunculus), Tulips (learn all about Tulips), Hyacinths, Lisianthus, Eucalyptus, Wax Flowers and Pampas Grass (learn all about Pampas Grass) and in a quintessentially  Easter inspired palette of dreamy pastels, cool greens and natural textures. 20+ PLANT BASED SPRING RECIPES

Spring is definitely in the air… can you feel it?! The weather is absolutely beautiful here in Calgary as we approach Spring Equinox — and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I’ve been taking every opportunity to get outside to enjoy long walks, runs and hikes as I work towards my health and wellness goals. Each year as we transition into spring, I also find myself  lightening up our meals and incorporating lots of fresh, seasonal produce, edible flowers and bright, herbaceous flavours! Over the last couple of years I’ve begun publishing seasonal recipe roundups here at JustineCelina — and in reviewing my archives, was surprised to discover that I hadn’t yet created a spring version. So, I’ve scoured my virtual recipe box to compile my favourite 20+ Plant Based Spring Recipes across culinary categories, from breakfast through happy hour! If you’re looking for some healthy, veggie-centric (and largely vegan), spring meal ideas utilizing all the gorgeous seasonal produce available to us from March though June, you’ve come to the right place!

While I’m perpetually testing new recipes, I’ve also published a solid repertoire of spring-inspired eats over the past 6 years (some of which are Wild Rose D-Tox Friendly!). Today I’m excited to share them all with you in this convenient, easy-to-browse format that you can come back to again and again. As always, my recipes are simple, seasonal, free of dairy, gluten and refined sugar and packed full of  fresh, nourishing ingredients — perfect to make after a weekend grocery run or trip to the farmer’s market! These whole food dishes are also budget friendly, with many yielding large batches (perfect for families, spring meal prep or batch cooking and freezing!).  From my kitchen to yours, I hope this roundup of tested-till-perfect, plant based eats and drinks inspires you enjoy and experiment with seasonal produce, herbs and blooms this spring!

JANUARY DIGITAL BLOOMS ROUNDUP | 8 FREE TECH WALLPAPERS

Flower friends, welcome back for the first post of 2022! Today marks the end of an era here at JustineCelina, as it’s the first month since DIGITAL BLOOMS inception back in April 2016 that I’m not providing a new free floral wallpaper for download (yes, you read that correctly!). I spent much of 2021 letting go of things that no longer served me and making space for what’s next so I could live and work in greater alignment. This facilitated a lot of strategizing around how I could continue to grow my blog and business in 2022. Longtime readers will know I’ve mentioned I would love to extend my DIGITAL BLOOMS into a series of calendar-based digital and print products (this is something many of you have requested as well!), however, given the volume of content I previously produced each month and the resources required, it simply wasn’t possible. So, it’s time for a change! I’m pleased to announce that I’m dedicated the first few months of 2022 to carving out what’s next for JustineCelina Digital Blooms and am feeling very inspired to refocus and finally tackle the e-commerce component of my brand!

But, not to worry! My extensive archive of tech wallpapers will remain available for free download here at JustineCelina, regardless of the additional products I develop. While I work away on what’s next, each month this year I’ll publish a roundup of free floral tech wallpapers for easy browsing. Even if you’re a die hard DIGITAL BLOOMS fan, surely you haven’t downloaded each of the 8 free January tech wallpapers I’ve produced over the years, have you?! Freshen up your tech for 2022 by choosing from my best free floral tech wallpapers featuring a stunning array of seasonal winter flowers and foliage, crisp colour palettes and inventive arrangements to enjoy on the background of your computer, tablet or phone. As always, I hope January’s Digital Blooms bring you joy and inspiration as we ease into a fresh new year. Thank you so much for your continued support as I shift my focus to expanding JustineCelina DIGITAL BLOOMS into digital and print based products this year! I could have never imagined how successful this series would become and can’t wait to continue explore all the new possibilities that lie ahead as I break ground on a longstanding business goal. Wishing you all a wonderful new year!

FALL 2020 LOOKBOOK

Fall fashion lovers, I’m thrilled to welcome you back for another seasonally inspired LOOKBOOK! Since publishing my Early Autumn 2020 Lookbook, there have been a few notable developments here in Calgary in regards to new public health measures to combat the second wave of COVID-19 we’re currently experiencing. I’ve been fairly quiet here at JustineCelina as we navigated what Alberta’s new restrictions look like for us and our businesses ahead of the holiday season. In light of these recent announcements, we decided against shooting the final three winter looks I had planned for this LOOKBOOK outdoors. As social gatherings of any kind are prohibited both in our homes as well as outdoors, it simply doesn’t feel like the right time to do so. As I’ve mentioned previously, these restrictions are something I take very seriously. These LOOKBOOKS showcase what I’m authentically wearing each season — and getting dressed up with quite literally no where to go simply didn’t resonate with me. Since we’re all staying in these days, I knew it wouldn’t resonate with you either!

That said, I didn’t want that to stop me from from serving up one final dose of late fall fashion here at JustineCelina this season while we’re all cozied up at home! Alas, the fall looks we captured earlier this autumn were collecting dust on my hard drive and I wanted to bring them to life, even if this LOOKBOOK doesn’t follow my typical 6 outfit format. But hey — 2020 is anything but typical, right?! My Fall 2020 Lookbook features 3 creative, free spirited, trend focused fall 2020 outfits built on foundational, quality wardrobe staples. As always, you can expect a melange of high, low, old, new and vintage — as well as shoppable links at every price point. If you’re looking for a sartorial escape during lockdown, join me this evening for  inventive layering tips to get the most of your wardrobe as we transition into winter, my process for pulling together elegant cool weather looks and a chat about how my personal style (and shopping habits) have changed as a result of the pandemic. Pour yourself a juicy glass of pinot noir and settle in for a fleeting dose of late autumn fashion on the Alberta prairies — complete with both rural and urban style inspiration and additional face mask recommendations!
