SEPTEMBER 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

You guys, I seriously can’t believe Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend! 2017 just is flying by. Every month when it comes time to round up my picks for these Monthly Beauty Favourites posts, it’s hard to believe it’s been a month since my last! As I mentioned, September was the busiest month of the year for me both personally and professionally — but I actually discovered quite a few new beauty products, as well as rekindled the flame with a few long time favourites. My September 2017 Beauty Favourites span categories here at JustineCelina — it’s an eclectic, cross category mixture of products at every price point!

Kick back with a delicious chai latte and cozy up for some quality girl time — let’s chat about all things makeup, hair, skincare and fragrance! Last month my favourite products included a foundation and lipgloss from Rhianna’s new makeup brand (yes, I too got caught up in the FENTY hype!), to a new, anti-aging eye gel from Paula’s Choice (there were a lot of late nights and early mornings in September!), a bold, spicy orange liquid lip that I seem to gravitate to every autumn, a budget friendly, nudish lipliner with an autumnal spin, a stunning copper eyeshadows (a must for us green eyed gals!), a very well loved three-in-one volumizer, texturizer, and dry shampoo that smells absolutely heavenly, a sensual, cozy fall fragrance and another set of amazing, natural looking lashes from my favourite lash brand (they’re brand new for A/W17 and you can find them at Walmart!). SUMMER TO AUTUMN 2017 TREND GUIDE | ORANGE CRUSH

I’m strutting into September with fresh TREND GUIDE for this transitional time of year! Today I’m sharing a versatile look that I’ve worn many times this summer in both personal and professional settings — and I’m also showing you how to style it into the first days of autumn. I’m planning to enjoy summer for as long as I possibly can — the weather is exceptionally beautiful here in Calgary (there was actually a heat warning on the day we shot this post and it was 34 °C!) and therefore I’m going to utilize every possible opportunity to wear sandals and open toed shoes (Canadian girls, I know you feel me)!

In this pre-fall look, I’m merging a handful of key trends from Summer / Autumn 2017 — including orange, butterum, eyelet, embroidery, cork and natural textured accessories, bright whites, strappy sandals and tailored, wide leg trousers. I’m finally showing off my birthday present here at JustineCelina (to myself, from myself!) — the absolutely stunning, Gaia’s Ark Bamboo Clutch (which has been on heavy rotation in my summer wardrobe but hasn’t yet made it to the blog!). I’m also sharing autumn styling options by simply changing up my accessories to include an office appropriate, daytime bag that doubles as a briefcase, gorgeous tasseled pumps a classic watch! And last but not least, it’s that time of year again — today I’m introducing you to the PANTONE Fall 2017 Fashion Color Report and chatting about how you can incorporate fall colour trends into your wardrobe right now to extend the life of your favourite summer pieces as we transition into autumn. TRANSITIONING THE TRENDS | AUTUMN TO WINTER

With the weather in Calgary being all sorts of unpredictable this year, I had originally planned to share this look with you earlier this autumn as the last installment in my Autumn Trend Guides. The intense cold snap we experienced a couple of weeks ago made shooting new style content outside almost impossible — but thankfully we experienced a few above 0℃ days earlier this week, so I jumped at the chance to get out there and snap a few photos. HERE COMES THE SUN

After 10 days of rain and some crazy storms here in Alberta, I took full advantage of a few brief days of sunshine earlier this week. Today I’m chatting about carefree summer style and my favourite easy pieces to wear on hot summer days. You know, those simple ‘one and done’ pieces that practically style themselves — you can just throw them on and go? That’s what today’s post is all about! I’m also sharing some great accessories to add interest to easy summer outfits along with my go-to pair of oversized shades. Come adventure to the beautiful canola fields right behind my family’s acreage in rural Alberta and enjoy some virtual Vitamin D!

JUNE SOUNDTRACK

My June Soundtrack is a 75 track playlist full of dreamy, summery tunes and good vibes! If you’re looking for a fresh soundtrack for roadtrips, summer parties or just some great background music for sunny days I’ve got you covered. A few standout tracks this month include a cool rendition of Sixpence None The Richer’s Kiss Me (anyone else remember that song from our teenage years?), Cold by Grabbitz feat. LAYNE, Sniffle Party’s Peach Dream and Seven Strangers by 90 Pounds of Pete. I also fell hard for Brett‘s album Mode and added 5 of my favourite songs to June’s Soundtrack. I couldn’t be happier that spring is officially here, so today I’m sharing my top 10 spring style staples and beauty tips! Year after year, there are a few pieces and colours I always look forward to incorporating in my spring wardrobe and beauty routine. While styles change and we see updated versions of key items each season, my quintessential spring style and beauty staples are actually pretty consistent. That said, spring is also a time where I feel super inspired to branch out and try new things, and that definitely filters through into my personal style! COZY IN CAMEL | MY FAVOURITE TRANSITIONAL PIECES

I always find that February is a difficult month, fashion-wise! It’s not the dead of winter anymore, but it’s also definitely not spring. Here in Calgary the weather has been pretty mild, but there’s still snow on the ground (and let’s be real — it could still snow anytime!). At this time of year I get sick of wearing pants and crave the more feminine silhouettes of spring — dresses and skirts! I find myself reaching for a lot of neutral tones, but punching my look up with bold accessories and statement lips (especially since I’ve been so obsessed with pink, but am picky about wearing it!). I’ve mentioned before that the core of my wardrobe consists of pieces that I can wear for both work and play — this outfit is an example of something I’d wear if I was hanging out with friends, or headed to a business meeting. Today I’m sharing my favourite transitional pieces from winter-to-spring in Alberta!
