DIGITAL BLOOMS JANUARY 2018 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS

Flower lovers, welcome back for the first post of 2018! And what better way to usher in a new year than with a brand new digital wallpaper for your devices? This January, our DIGITAL BLOOMS are set to a fresh, inviting palette of crisp white, forest green, warm maple, cool grey and unconventional navy as a nod to Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2018, Ultra Violet — described as a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade that conveys originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. I love the concept behind Pantone’s choice for 2018! Rebecca Dawn Design and I will be working with this forward thinking hue all winter here at JustineCelina — we can’t wait to share more Ultra Violet inspiration with you!

Our January free tech wallpapers include a unique medley of winter’s most beautiful blooms and greenery — including Magnolia Leaves, Agonis, White Hydrangeas, Bronze Cymbidium and Panda Anemones (aren’t they absolutely stunning?!). Refresh your tech for 2018 by downloading January’s Digital Blooms and enjoy the fleeting beauty of these charming winter flowers on the background of your computer, tablet or phone all month long!

DECEMBER 2017 SOUNDTRACK + BONUS 2017 SOUNDTRACK

To send the last day of 2017 off in style, I have not one, but two fresh playlists for you today, friends! First up, my December Soundtrack — an eclectic, chill playlist featuring 45 of my favourite tracks from the month. Standouts include XYLØ’s Alive, Half an Orange’s Downtown, Bien’s Crowd Goes Wild, Brett’s Emperor Tho, Sundrenched’s Doesn’t Really Matter Honestly, Handsome Ghost’s Reckless Lover, a lovely, electronic rendition of The Shins New Slang, Bearson and Natalola’s One Step at a Time, DMX and Divine Bar’s Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer (a ridiculous song that we had on repeat during holiday parties!), Kasbo’s Snow in Gothenburg, MIA GLADSTONE’s Hold It Down, Koresma’s Fork in the Road, Garden City Movement’s Slightly All The Time and The Kite String Tangle’s The Devil You Know.

If you’re in need of even more fresh tunes, Spotify also compiled 2017 Soundtrack automatically for me earlier this month, including my 100 most played songs from 2017 (how cool is that?!) — and I have to say it’s pretty solid! If you’re looking for some easy listening music to decorate the last hours of 2017, this playlist is for you. Whatever you get up to tonight, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years Eve! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each and every one of you for the time you’ve spent here at JustineCelina this year. Your continued support truly means the world to me and I couldn’t do this without you! Happy New Year and cheers to 2018!

DIY | HOW TO MAKE AN ASYMMETRICAL HOLIDAY WREATH

To kick off December, I had the pleasure of attending a wreath making workshop with the lovely and talented Rebecca Dawn Design. The wine and holiday cheer were flowing — and between all the eating, drinking and being merry, I created this Asymmetrical Holiday Wreath! I took you along via Insta Stories and after lots of questions and comments about the process, I finally had some time to photograph the wreath and publish a DIY post for you (better late than never, right?!). If you have an hour to spare, you too can create this modern, Scandinavian style holiday wreath with a handful of inexpensive, easy to source materials! They also make a lovely hostess gift if you’re looking for last minute ideas with a handmade, personal touch.

This year, I’ve definitely taken a more minimalistic approach to the holidays and decorating. Since my main focus these past few months has been refreshing our living room (stay tuned for the reveal in the New Year!) and we’re out of town visiting family for the holidays, we didn’t even set up a tree! Instead we decorated our new Bird of Paradise plant with a few twinkling lights, added some cotton stems to our vases and hung this Asymmetrical Holiday Wreath! If you’re looking for a simple DIY to add a festive touch to your minimalistic decor this holiday season, a fresh wreath is the perfect addition. Our home is brimming with greenery and lots of natural wood textures with a mid century modern vibe — so I selected Cedar, Pine, Brunia, Eucalyptus pods, Red Ironbark Eucalyptus and Magnolia Leaves for our wreath (it’s also makes the living room smell amazing — no tree required!). If you’d like to learn how to make an Asymmetrical Holiday Wreath of your own, throw on your favourite Christmas playlist, settle in with a glass of your favourite festive beverage (may I suggest Classic Winter Citrus Red Sangria?) and let’s get started!

DIGITAL BLOOMS DECEMBER 2017 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS

Friends, the last month of 2017 is upon us (say what?!?!) and that means it’s time for an extra festive edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS to send 2016 off in style! Join Rebecca Dawn Design and I in welcoming winter with a fresh selection of seasonal flowers and whimsical, holiday inspired designs. This time we’re highlighting the cooler side of the PANTONE Fall 2017 Fashion Color Report — including luxe, velvety hues of Tawny Port, Ballet Slipper, Navy Peony, Golden Lime and Marina. We hope you enjoy this refreshing change of pace from the warm, autumnal palettes we’re been working with for the last few months! December 2017’s Digital Blooms feature some of our favourite winter flowers, foliage and berries — including Anenomies, Asclepias, Astilbe, Astrantia, Knifeblade Acacia, Liqustrom, Ruby Silk Grass, Sedum and Spray Roses. Our featured Christmas tree design is also a nod to Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017, Greenery. It was a shade I really enjoyed working with across categories here at JustineCelina this year and can’t wait for the 2018 Colour of the Year announcement (I have a feeling it’s going to be in the red family — keep your eyes peeled to my socials over the next week or so, I’ll share the news as soon as I find out!).

Click through to feast your eyes on December’s 3 free tech wallpapers and to enjoy that festive holiday feeling on background of your computer, tablet or phone into the New Year! And we’ve included another coloured background option for for my moody crowd — last month you loved our nod to Pantone’s Neutral Grey in addition to the our standard marble background, so for December we really changed things up to offer a background option inspired by Pantone’s Navy Peony. It’s an opulent, regal hue that will add a bit of visual drama to your tech as we transition into winter. Happy Holidays from Rebecca and I — we hope December’s free tech wallpapers help to make your holiday season a little more merry and bright! Thanks for hanging out with us as we celebrated each month of 2017 through nature’s most beautiful blooms and we can’t wait to share what’s in store for 2018!

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN ARRANGEMENT EVER

You guys, this is my favourite FLOWER content Rebecca and I have ever created together — and it has some pretty stiff competition, if I do say so myself! We shoot our flower content quarterly — so I’ve been sitting on these images for over a month now and the anticipation has been killing me (if you follow along over on Insta Stories you’ll have seen sneak peeks of this arrangement almost every week since I captured it!). I had so many ideas for this post name, but I finally decided to just call it what it is — The Most Beautiful Autumn Arrangement Ever! Rebecca really outdid herself today and I couldn’t be more excited to share this truly stunning, unique autumn arrangement with you in a fresh installment of our FLOWER EDUCATION series.

When you think of flowers, you probably automatically think of spring and summer, right? Well, Rebecca Dawn Design and I happen to think some of natures most beautiful blooms, berries and foliage are actually available right now — and tonight we’re showing them off! Embrace the rich, velvety tones and textures of the season with this charismatic, artfully undone arrangement featuring an eclectic medley of Bittersweet, Agonis, Echinacea Pods, Celosia, Crocosmia Pods, Crocosmia, Chrysanthemum Poms, Commercial Mums, Liqustrom, Knifeblade Acacia, Eryngium, Echinacea Pods, Ruby Silk Grass, Astrantia, Astilbe, Cotinus, Hanging Amaranthus and Peach Avalanche Roses set in a warm, autumnal palette inspired by the Pantone Fall 2017 Fashion Trend Report. OCTOBER 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Happy snowy Sunday, beautiful people! I’m elated to be curled up in a cozy sweater and fuzzy slippers with a big mug of chamomile tea this weekend working away on my October 2017 Beauty Favourites post — it’s a cold one in Calgary! If you’re looking for an excuse to hole up inside and avoid stepping foot into the frigid outdoors this weekend (and getting out of your sweatpants!), you’re in luck. Pour yourself a warm cup of whatever your little heart desires (mulled wine, perhaps?!), grab your iPad, phone or snuggle up in front of your laptop with your softest throw and let’s chat autumn beauty!

October was a bit of a whirlwind — it included a lot of travel, a new haircut and desire to refresh my look, shake things up and discover new products! I had a love affair with red lips and liquid lips — and wore one red in particular most of the month whenever I felt like something bold. I also became totally smitten with a pretty autumnal shade from the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick range, continued to practically bathe in Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters, rediscovered my love for an innovative mattifying product and found an incredible, inexpensive nude eyeliner that makes my eyes look bright and awake (trust me, last month I needed all the help I could get!). In the FRAGRANCE and SKINCARE categories, I got acquainted with an ultra pampering, uplifting body soufflé from Crabtree & Eveyln and reacquainted with one of my favourite autumn scents. It was somewhat of a minimalistic month for me beauty wise, as it took me awhile to figure out what worked best with my new fringe (which I’m still loving, by the way!), my eyebrows and eye makeup have definitely taken a back seat (no one can really tell I haven’t plucked or filled in my brows or spent those extra few minutes blending my eyeshadow — and it’s kind of amazing!). Let’s dive into my October 2017 Beauty Favourites, shall we?
