DIGITAL BLOOMS JULY 2019 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER + MY 400TH BLOG POST!

Happy Canada Day Long weekend, beautiful people! Today I’m celebrating the first long weekend of Summer 2019 and my 400th blog post here at JustineCelina (isn’t that wild?!) with July 2019’s Free Desktop Wallpaper. I’ve been lilac-obsessed lately (case in point) and have captured their fleeting beauty in July’s DIGITAL BLOOMS, inspired by dreamy lavender hues and Calgary’s blooming trees and gardens. July 2019’s free floral wallpaper has a laid-back, hand-picked vibe that beautifully compliments summer’s carefree sunshiny days!

Foraged Lilacs, Chive Flowers from our community garden, Freesia, Scabiosa and Misty Blue Statice are whimsically arranged on a complimentary lavender background for a soft, monochromatic effect in July 2019’s Digital Blooms. Enjoy the essence of blooming lilac trees (learn more about how to forage blooming branches and create an arrangement) and thriving summer gardens by clicking through to download a floral tech wallpaper to the background of your computer, tablet or phone — absolutely free!

My June 2019 Soundtrack has you covered — featuring an hour and a half of lighthearted, chill, easy-listening grooves (with a few hip-hop curveballs thrown in for good measure!). Wishing all my Canadian friends a fun and safe long weekend!

RASPBERRY RHUBARB ROSÉ SPRITZ

In the wake of Summer Solstice, I’m so excited to share the first clean COCKTAIL of the season here at JustineCelina! Those of you who follow along with my Instagram Stories will know this one has been in testing since early April, when the first rhubarb of year starting popping up in my local farmer’s markets. This year I hosted the special ladies in my life for Mother’s Day brunch and created this signature cocktail inspired by them to celebrate the occasion! I’m happy to report my Raspberry Rhubarb Rosé Spritz received rave reviews after 15 rounds of testing and perfecting — my Mom even exclaimed “Now that’s a keeper!” upon first sip!

My Raspberry Rhubarb Rosé Spritz typifies the season in a jubilant celebration of all things feminine, fruity and nostalgic. Rhubarb and raspberries have always reminded me of my Grandmother’s garden and berry picking at the family farm — so I channeled some of my fondest childhood memories into this cheerful libation! A summer-inspired trio of rhubarb, raspberries and honey combine in a scratch-made Honeyed Raspberry Rhubarb Syrup to infuse this effervescent cocktail with seasonal panache, beautifully complimented by sparkling rosé, local craft vodka, soda water, fresh lime juice and a dash of bitters. Enjoy this pretty, Pantone Living Coral inspired spritz with the special ladies in your life this summer — it’s the perfect menu addition for your next summer soirée, brunch, baby or bridal shower, or girls night in! Cheers!

SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK

Friends and fashionistas, I’m elated to finally share my SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK with you! Despite a few delays due to our crazy weather (believe it or not, it snowed in Calgary just a few weeks ago!) we finally wrapped up shooting earlier this month and I’ve since been hard at work creating this seasonally inspired, sartorial guide for the modern woman. My 12 outfit LOOKBOOK features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings over the last couple of months and as we transition into summer! As always, it’s complete with a healthy dose of seasonal trends and practical tips on how to wear them, mashed up with classic wardrobe staples and shoppable links at every pricepoint — including the inside scoop on the best sales of the season! It’s been a major labour of love and I hope it’s been worth the wait!

Now that summer is officially upon us (although there’s no end in sight to the rain here in Calgary!), many of us Canadian girls are finally packing away our boots and knits and pulling out our warm weather pieces from years past. I always like to take this time to clean out my closet, identify holes in my seasonal wardrobe, integrate a few updated basics and experiment with new trends. As always, my SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK runs the gamut of high, low, old, new and vintage — there’s truly something for everyone! It’s bursting with bold colour, print and my favourite warm weather fabrics and textures, plus updated wardrobe staples that offer ultimate styling versatility.  Step into my closet this weekend and get ready for a serious dose of seasonal FASHION and I walk you through the cornerstones of my SS19 wardrobe — I hope it inspires your most stylish summer yet!

DIGITAL BLOOMS JUNE 2019 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER

Peony season is upon us once again — and this month at JustineCelina I’m celebrating one of my favourite flowers in all of their beautiful simplicity for June 2019’s DIGITAL BLOOMS! It looks like warmer weather is finally here to stay and Peonies have started to pop up in local flower markets and grocery stores (if you’re here in Calgary, be sure to stop into a Safeway to score Peonies at an incredible price!). The flower pictured in June 2019 Free Desktop Wallpaper actually came from my Mom’s country garden where I captured this design, inspired by sweet summer blooms dancing on the warm breeze!

My obsession with the Pantone’s SS19 Fashion Colour Trend Report continues this month (you’ll be hearing more about it in my upcoming SS19 Lookbook, dropping soon!) and I’m particularly intrigued by Sweet Lilac paired up with Pepper Stem. If you love Peonies and dreamy pastel pastel pinks, click through to download June’s tech wallpaper to the background of your computer, tablet or phone — absolutely free! And if you’d like to learn more about Peonies this season, hop over to our All About Peonies post for a one-stop educational resource!

DIY | MODERN DRIFTWOOD MACRAME WALL HANGING

I’m riding that just-back-from-vacation-and-feeling-so-inspired wave and coming at you today with a fresh, completely impromptu DIY post! During our recent getaway, our Kootenay cabin was perched on the most beautiful beach with troves of driftwood washed up on shore — and I finally found the perfect piece to complete the large macrame wall hanging I’ve been planning since winter! Immediately after arriving home on Saturday, I got to work on this Modern Driftwood Macrame Wall Hanging, modelling it after the original I created for our refreshed Living Room (which has become one of my most popular DIYs!). Since I was enjoying a little staycation last weekend (I didn’t open my computer or socials for one whole week and it was just what I needed!) I wasn’t actually planning to share this post here at JustineCelina, but after snapping a few process photos over on Insta Stories I was flooded with DMs and questions about how exactly I made it. And here we are!

You may be surprised to learn this oversized macrame wall hanging is actually quite a simple and inexpensive project. The materials to create this 7′ x 3.5′ modern wall hanging cost a whopping $66 and it took me a few hours from start to finish, including installation. If you’re curious about how I pulled it off, you’re in luck — this post contains  step-by-step, visual instructions showing you exactly how I made this bohemian beauty! If you’re looking for a fun weekend project to adorn the walls of your home or for a unique gift idea (a friend of mine created one for a baby shower!) pour yourself a cup of coffee, pull up a seat at my Dining Room table and let’s get crafty!

This month, we’ve created a simplistic, quintessentially spring design inspired by early seasonal blooms in sweet pastel shades complimented by earthy vines of green.

May’s free tech wallpaper includes stunning Keira and Patience Garden Roses (learn all about roses), Blushing Bride Proteas and foraged greenery. Spring clean your devices and bring the uplifting essence of the season straight to your screen by clicking through to download our May 2019 wallpaper — absolutely free!
