AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDE | NEW ROMANTIC

I’m so excited to share the first post in a of a series of AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDES here at JustineCelina, where I’m breaking down this seasons biggest trends and showing you how to wear them! I’ve mentioned previously that fall is my favourite time of year for many reasons and fashion in definitely one of them. There’s just something about autumn that makes me want to start anew and refresh my wardrobe to reflect current trends — so today I’m sharing a few of the updates I’ve made and how I like to style my new additions. Today we’re chatting about the new romantic trend and combining 70’s inspired fall florals, waistcoats, rich reds, military greens, statement sleeves, mini bags, velvet, matte lips, chokers, shades of grey, over the knee boots and suede to achieve the look! PRE FALL TRANSITIONAL STYLE

I, along with almost every other woman on the planet, will tell you that fall is my favourite time of year, especially for fashion. But September specifically is my favourite month — well, for almost everything (except Pumpkin Spice Lattes… I may be the only woman on the planet who’s not a fan of those!). It’s nice enough outside that we don’t have to be totally bundled up, but cooler temperatures call for more autumnal, layered style. It’s the perfect opportunity to maximize wear time on your favourite summer pieces, but also to begin playing with autumn fashion. So, today’s post a fall-inspired outfit with wear now appeal — a summer-meets-autumn mashup that we only get to wear for a brief window of time here in Calgary! I’m also chatting about some of fall 2016’s biggest trends and giving you tips to incorporate them into your personal style, right now.

SUMMER 2016 TREND HIGHLIGHTS

With August barely underway, many retailers are beginning to introduce fall inventory. Well I don’t know about you, but I’m not even close to being done with summer! Regardless of whether or not the sun is shining in Calgary (rain, rain, go away!), I’ve still been enjoying seasonal trends. Today, I’m sharing my Summer 2016 Trend Highlights and showing you how I’ve been wearing them — including bright whites, pompoms, off the shoulder tops, tassels, fringe, lace up details, frayed hem denim, 70’s revival and layered gold and natural stone jewellery! I’m also thrilled to be working with my favourite local jewellery designer Coutu Kitsch to share some of my favourite pieces from their SS16 El Verano Collection with you.

HERE COMES THE SUN

After 10 days of rain and some crazy storms here in Alberta, I took full advantage of a few brief days of sunshine earlier this week. Today I’m chatting about carefree summer style and my favourite easy pieces to wear on hot summer days. You know, those simple ‘one and done’ pieces that practically style themselves — you can just throw them on and go? That’s what today’s post is all about! I’m also sharing some great accessories to add interest to easy summer outfits along with my go-to pair of oversized shades. Come adventure to the beautiful canola fields right behind my family’s acreage in rural Alberta and enjoy some virtual Vitamin D!

JUNE SOUNDTRACK

My June Soundtrack is a 75 track playlist full of dreamy, summery tunes and good vibes! If you’re looking for a fresh soundtrack for roadtrips, summer parties or just some great background music for sunny days I’ve got you covered. A few standout tracks this month include a cool rendition of Sixpence None The Richer’s Kiss Me (anyone else remember that song from our teenage years?), Cold by Grabbitz feat. LAYNE, Sniffle Party’s Peach Dream and Seven Strangers by 90 Pounds of Pete. I also fell hard for Brett‘s album Mode and added 5 of my favourite songs to June’s Soundtrack. This month’s album cover is a preview of what’s in store for July’s Digital Blooms — so stay tuned for lots more peony themed goodness! Also, how adorable are my new heart shaped sunglasses?

NEWTRALS

Summer is in full swing here in Calgary and each season I look forward to updating my wardrobe with a few new pieces! Although I love colour, today’s post is inspired by some new, neutral items I’ve picked up recently that have been on heavy rotation. I’m highlighting my favourite new accessories in a neutral, versatile colour palette and chatting about how I incorporate new pieces into my wardrobe to update old favorites. I also chat pairing a statement lip with neutral outfits to punch them up and add a pop of colour (because you know I can’t get enough purple lips lately)! I couldn’t be happier that spring is officially here, so today I’m sharing my top 10 spring style staples and beauty tips! Year after year, there are a few pieces and colours I always look forward to incorporating in my spring wardrobe and beauty routine. While styles change and we see updated versions of key items each season, my quintessential spring style and beauty staples are actually pretty consistent. That said, spring is also a time where I feel super inspired to branch out and try new things, and that definitely filters through into my personal style!
