Summer is in full swing here in Calgary and each season I look forward to updating my wardrobe with a few new pieces! Although I love colour, today’s post is inspired by some new, neutral items I’ve picked up recently that have been on heavy rotation. I’m highlighting my favourite new accessories in a neutral, versatile colour palette and chatting about how I incorporate new pieces into my wardrobe to update old favorites. I also chat pairing a statement lip with neutral outfits to punch them up and add a pop of colour (because you know I can’t get enough purple lips lately)! Today’s post is all about shoes! I really love shoes — I’m a bit of a shoeaholic and always have been! If you’re reading this, you probably love shoes too. I couldn’t be happier that spring is officially here, so today I’m sharing my top 10 spring style staples and beauty tips! Year after year, there are a few pieces and colours I always look forward to incorporating in my spring wardrobe and beauty routine. While styles change and we see updated versions of key items each season, my quintessential spring style and beauty staples are actually pretty consistent. That said, spring is also a time where I feel super inspired to branch out and try new things, and that definitely filters through into my personal style! WINTER BOHO + HOW TO SHOP FOR GREAT VINTAGE

Lately, I’ve been reviewing my photo archives and lusting after the more carefree, bohemian styles of summer and autumn. My very first fashion post for JustineCelina is still one of my favourites! So today I’m chatting about wearing bohemian styles in cooler temperatures. You’ll find me pretty much living in maxi dresses in the summer, so I wanted to show you can style them for winter, too. In Calgary the weather is right around the 10° mark and things are starting to thaw out (see that hint of green on the ground?!) — so wardrobe options begin to open up. It’s nice not having to be totally bundled all the time, and start experimenting with layering again! I really love a good faux fur vest, and one of my favourite ways to wear them in the late winter and early fall is to pair them up with maxi dresses. I also give you a simple braided hairstyle idea, and my tips on how to shop for great vintage!

COZY IN CAMEL | MY FAVOURITE TRANSITIONAL PIECES

I always find that February is a difficult month, fashion-wise! It’s not the dead of winter anymore, but it’s also definitely not spring. Here in Calgary the weather has been pretty mild, but there’s still snow on the ground (and let’s be real — it could still snow anytime!). At this time of year I get sick of wearing pants and crave the more feminine silhouettes of spring — dresses and skirts! I find myself reaching for a lot of neutral tones, but punching my look up with bold accessories and statement lips (especially since I’ve been so obsessed with pink, but am picky about wearing it!). I’ve mentioned before that the core of my wardrobe consists of pieces that I can wear for both work and play — this outfit is an example of something I’d wear if I was hanging out with friends, or headed to a business meeting. Today I’m sharing my favourite transitional pieces from winter-to-spring in Alberta!

WHAT TO WEAR TO | HOLIDAY PARTIES

‘Tis the season! Tonight’s post is another installment in my WHAT TO WEAR series (thanks, Michelle for the request) — I’ve compiled a very comprehensive guide on what to wear to various holiday parties. I’ve included outfit options for every type of party you may be attending — whether it be a corporate gala or black tie event, cocktail party, or a New Years Eve celebration! And now is a great time to shop (it’s when I personally do my holiday shopping), since a lot of retailers are offering Cyber Week and Black Friday promotions. I’ll have more details on that in this post!

Let’s face it — holiday parties are not what they used to be, at least not in Calgary. Five years ago I was dressed to the nines at multiple, extravagant celebrations, while this year neither my boyfriend or I are attending corporate holiday parties. Companies just don’t have the extra cash right now to shell out on these types of events. But rather than focusing on the negative, I put a budget friendly spin on my picks — each piece of clothing is under $200, and most accessories under $100 (with a lot of jewellery $20 or less)!

HOW TO STYLE | PONCHOS

I’m so happy to be sharing more fashion content with you this fall and winter! To kick things off today, I’m starting a new series here at JustineCelina called HOW TO STYLE — showing you how to style a specific on-trend item that you might not think you can pull off, or may be intimidated by.

I’ve loved ponchos for years, and will always wear what I love regardless of whether or not it’s trendy — but I’m pretty excited that ponchos are everywhere this fall! They’re such a statement piece, and a great way to add interest, depth and texture to your fall wardrobe.
