SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK

Friends and fashionistas, I’m elated to finally share my SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK with you! Despite a few delays due to our crazy weather (believe it or not, it snowed in Calgary just a few weeks ago!) we finally wrapped up shooting earlier this month and I’ve since been hard at work creating this seasonally inspired, sartorial guide for the modern woman. My 12 outfit LOOKBOOK features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings over the last couple of months and as we transition into summer! As always, it’s complete with a healthy dose of seasonal trends and practical tips on how to wear them, mashed up with classic wardrobe staples and shoppable links at every pricepoint — including the inside scoop on the best sales of the season! It’s been a major labour of love and I hope it’s been worth the wait!

Now that summer is officially upon us (although there’s no end in sight to the rain here in Calgary!), many of us Canadian girls are finally packing away our boots and knits and pulling out our warm weather pieces from years past. I always like to take this time to clean out my closet, identify holes in my seasonal wardrobe, integrate a few updated basics and experiment with new trends. As always, my SPRING / SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK runs the gamut of high, low, old, new and vintage — there’s truly something for everyone! It’s bursting with bold colour, print and my favourite warm weather fabrics and textures, plus updated wardrobe staples that offer ultimate styling versatility. DIGITAL BLOOMS JUNE 2019 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER

Peony season is upon us once again — and this month at JustineCelina I’m celebrating one of my favourite flowers in all of their beautiful simplicity for June 2019’s DIGITAL BLOOMS! It looks like warmer weather is finally here to stay and Peonies have started to pop up in local flower markets and grocery stores (if you’re here in Calgary, be sure to stop into a Safeway to score Peonies at an incredible price!). The flower pictured in June 2019 Free Desktop Wallpaper actually came from my Mom’s country garden where I captured this design, inspired by sweet summer blooms dancing on the warm breeze!

My obsession with the Pantone’s SS19 Fashion Colour Trend Report continues this month (you’ll be hearing more about it in my upcoming SS19 Lookbook, dropping soon!) and I’m particularly intrigued by Sweet Lilac paired up with Pepper Stem. Rebecca Dawn Design and I are celebrating DIGITAL BLOOMS 3rd Birthday today with this ultra sweet, feminine design inspired by the shifting seasons and gorgeous springtime blooms! This series started as a fun, collaborative idea between friends to showcase seasonal flowers alongside colour trends in a unique and interesting way — and we never could have predicted its success. Over the past 3 years we’ve created a total of 103 free tech wallpapers for you to enjoy that have been downloaded over a million times — isn’t that wild?! TRANSITIONAL STYLE STAPLES | WINTER TO SPRING 2019

The perpetual Extreme Cold Warning finally appears to have lifted here in Calgary — and with temperatures set to rise above O°C this weekend, visions of spring are dancing through my head! Although I typically enjoy dressing for whatever weather mother nature throws our way, after experiencing the 3rd coldest February on record, I’m must admit I’m really looking forward to spring. But because of our cooler, rather temperamental climate, realistically it will be a couple of months before bare legs and open-toed shoes are on the menu. So, what’s a girl to wear while she’s longing for spring but still experiencing wintery weather?!

While I absolutely love to experiment with integrating seasonal trends into my personal style, I also believe a wardrobe built on a foundation of quality basics is essential in order to do so. This fashion philosophy has inspired me to start a brand new series called STYLE STAPLES here at JustineCelina where I’ll be sharing my most worn, most loved, workhorse wardrobe staples, season after season — the ones I would struggle to put outfits together without! Today we’re kicking things off with my favourite winter to spring transitional pieces for 2019 to help you navigate unpredictable weather in practical, stylish garments and accessories you can wear for years to come! This outfit formula works in both personal and professional settings with a few tweaks, flatters a wide range of body types and can be adapted to suit both warmer and cooler climates. PATTERN PLAY | CHAIN PRINT

Friends and fashionistas, welcome back for a fresh installment in my PATTERN PLAY series, dedicated to all things chain print! If you keep an eye on fashion trends, you’ll likely have noticed a surge of chain print trickling into your favourite retailers since the onset of autumn — and it’s hotter than ever as we transition into spring. Although this vintage feeling, designer-inspired print has always had a place in my wardrobe (namely in my vintage scarf collection!), I was thrilled to see its reemergence this season in so many fresh interpretations. That said, I always ensure trends have longevity before integrating them into my personal style and bringing them to JustineCelina — and can confidently declare that chain print here to stay!

Happy love day, friends! This year, I’m putting a PANTONE 2019 Colour of the Year spin on Valentine’s celebrations with a warm, pink-hued introduction to all things Living Coral! By now, you’ve likely heard about 2019’s hottest hue — either here at JustineCelina, or elsewhere online. As a creative professional, I’ve followed PANTONE (the global colour authority for creative industries) for inspiration my entire career. In fact, I even have a section dedicated to them here on the blog to categorize all my PANTONE inspired work throughout the years! As someone who’s very inspired by colour, I love to stay informed about the latest colour trends and allow them to inspire, challenge and push my creative work.

As you can probably imagine, I’m particularly passionate about PANTONE’s selection for 2019!
