JUNE 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey beautiful people — welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites! June was a fun month here at JustineCelina, packed with events, roadtrips, and absolutely gorgeous weather. Summer has definitely arrived in Calgary and I’ve been taking every opportunity I can to get outside and enjoy it! In June I experimented with a lot of seasonal trends in the beauty department and really pushed the boundaries of what type of what type of products I incorporated into my routine. It creative month for me beauty wise — and it was a blast!

If you’re so over spring pastels and nudes, this post is for you! My June 2017 Beauty Favourites are bursting with vibrant hues and unconventional finishes and formulas. I have mini reviews on a little bit of everything today — a beautiful, compact, warm toned eyeshadow palette (which is actually a fantastic alternative to the in-and-out of stock Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette), my favourite mascara of the year (and it just happens to be under $7!), more Lancôme lip products, a delicious vegan shower cream, a neon red blush, an ultra fine makeup setting mist, a spray that makes your locks super shiny, a metallic rose gold polish with good-for-your-nail ingredients. If you’re looking for a relaxing mid week read, settle in with me today and let’s chat about the best in summer beauty!

DIGITAL BLOOMS JULY 2017 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS

Flower friends, welcome back for a very festive edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS — where we’re celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday with an explosion of vibrant, fiery flowers! This month, Rebecca Dawn Design and I were inspired by warm, sun drenched days, summer celebrations and… you guessed it, the spicy side of the Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report — specifically, Flame. Pantone describes this sizzling, red based orange as fun loving, flamboyant and vivacious. It’s a beautiful summer hue and I can’t wait to work with this fiery shade across categories this month here at JustineCelina (orange is one of my favourite colours to wear during the summer — and did you read that Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette is back in stock?!).

Spice up your tech this month by clicking through to choose from 3 free digital wallpapers and enjoy some sunshine on your the background of your computer, tablet or phone all month long! Our July 2017 Digital Blooms feature Ranunculus, Double Tulips, Narcissus, Asclepia and Genista set to a sizzling colour palette of golden yellow, vibrant orange, warm coral and Pantone’s striking Flame. Happy Canada Day everyone — thanks for stopping by this weekend to celebrate with us!

MAY 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Man it feels good to publish this May 2017 Beauty Favourites post! Since I spent a large part of March barefaced due to my finger injury and published my first ever completely makeup free Monthly Beauty Favourites post, this past month I really enjoyed experimenting with makeup again and discovered so many incredible new products. May was packed full of events (both blog related and personal) and I took every available opportunity to get my glam on — so you’ll find a healthy dose of glow and sparkle in my May beauty favourites! There’s range of products at affordable and luxury price points in today’s post — including a stunning rose gold highlighter (for less than $5!), my favourite lipsticks of the entire year, a bargain, go-with-anything nude lipliner, the perfect blush palette for a youthful spring flush, some extremely luxurious eyeshadows, a pastel lilac nail polish with nourishing ingredients and a metallic, glittery liquid eyeshadow!

There’s a strong peach, pink and rose gold theme in my favourites today — what can I say, I’ve been immersing myself in seasonal colour trends in full force! It’s been awhile since we chatted all things beauty, but you remember the drill, right? Pour yourself a glass of wine, find a cozy spot to relax and kick back with me this weekend to learn more about my current favourite beauty products!

MAY 2017 SOUNDTRACK

Hey music lovers! Welcome back for another Monthly Soundtrack as we bid May adieu. I spent a lot of time in the mountains this month, between a last minute trip to Banff for Mother’s Day, to a wedding in Canmore and a Sunday spent exploring nature and enjoying this beautiful weather. I shot this month’s album cover on top of Sulphur Mountain, overlooking the Canadian Rockies!

My May 2017 Soundtrack is an eclectic mixture of feel good tunes with a sprinkle of hip hop thrown into the mix — so if you’re looking for a fresh playlist to kick off summer, I’ve totally got you covered today. A few standout tracks in this 2.5 hour, 41 track playlist include Valley’s Drive, Luna Shadows Waves, a really cool, stripped down rendition of Jimmy Eat World’s Sweetness by TeamMate, slenderbodies opal ocean, Phangs and R.L.UM.R’s Always Been U, Day Wave’s Bring You Down, Nick Leng’s Drivers, The Electric Sons Hold On, We’re Going Home, the entire Chainsmokers Memories…Do Not Open album, The Radio Dept.’s Pulling Our Weight, Marshmello and Omar LinX’s Keep It Mellow, Emir Duru’s Sunday, Glassio and Charles Fauna’s Morning House, Far Places In My Head, Brothertigers Listen, Alejandro’s Bury Me with My Gold and Jome’s appropriately titled Mountains. I hope your ears enjoy it!

SPICED STRAWBERRY WATERMELON GAZPACHO

The grass is green, the trees are blossoming (finally!) and I think that’s cause for celebration! If you’re looking to treat your taste buds to something refreshing after what was quite possibly the longest winter in Canadian history, embrace spring’s bountiful produce with my Spiced Strawberry Watermelon Gazpacho. This pretty, pink (yep, still riding that Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report wave), chilled soup is the perfect menu addition for your next spring soirée, baby or bridal shower, or anytime you’re hosting your girlfriends and want something fuss free, fresh and festive!

My Spiced Strawberry Watermelon Gazpacho is so simple, I almost can’t call it a recipe — but I’ve been meaning to publish this one since last summer! I popped over to Blushlane (a new organic market that just opened in my neighbourhood) on Friday and was so inspired by the beautiful strawberries, basil (I picked up a gorgeous basil plant… let’s hope I don’t kill it!) and mini watermelon that I knew I had to channel them into this recipe. With just 10 ingredients (seasonings and garnish included!) this fruity spin on traditional gazpacho comes together in just 10 minutes! So grab a delicious glass of rosé (I’m enjoying a Spanish Rioja!) and kick back with me tonight for the details on this modern, seasonal spin on a classic Spanish dish while I catch you up on a few cool things that have been happening the scenes lately — I can’t share a lot right now, but if you followed along with my Insta Stories last week, you may have an idea!

SPRINGING FORWARD + SEASONAL WARDROBE STAPLES

I’m back today with the first of many Spring 2017 FASHION posts coming to JustineCelina — and it feels fantastic! Originally, this look was scheduled for last month, but shooting style content with a fully dressed finger was decidedly… less than glamorous. Now that I’ve healed up a bit I couldn’t wait to jump back in front of the camera (please excuse the Band-Aid!) and chat about some of my Seasonal Wardrobe Staples. It’s been a long winter on the Alberta prairies, but I think it’s safe to say spring has finally arrived!

If you’re looking to refresh your spring style with a few key pieces this season, I’ve totally got you covered today as we spring forward. Although this outfit definitely incorporates a few trends (keep your eyes peeled for several upcoming Spring 2017 TREND GUIDES!) it’s also comprised of spring wardrobe building blocks and updated basics. You may remember me mentioning I wanted to rebuild my wardrobe with quality pieces this year — and I’m excited to share some of those foundational staples with you! Today we’re chatting about the Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report and simple ways to translate seasonal colour trends into your personal style, Mom jeans (sorry… they’re not going anywhere), step hem denim, blush and pastel hues, basic tees, mini bags, a quintessential spring shoe, oversized shades (obviously!) and a beautiful, everyday lip!
