MARCH 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES + BLOG HOUSEKEEPING

Hey guys — welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites post! As you may have gathered, the last couple of months have been intense BEAUTY wise here at JustineCelina — I’m elated to continue my partnership with Sephora Canada into 2017 and have been testing products like crazy. I’ve also been testing new drugstore products as well (if you joined me over on Insta Stories one random Friday afternoon last month where I unboxed and gave my first impressions on a ton of new goodies I picked up from Wet n Wild, you know what I’m talking about!). My March 2017 Beauty Favourites are a mixture of new high end obsessions and new drugstore obsessions — there’s something for everyone!

And now, for some blog housekeeping. Back in my New Year, New Goals: Cultivating a Balanced 2017 post, I mentioned a number of things I was investigating to aid me in working smarter this year. I’ve been experimenting with new structures, programs, workflows and tools behind the scenes here at JustineCelina this year — and you’ll see the first of the changes roll out in today’s post (I’m excited to share them with you — but I’m still learning, so it’s a work in progress!). DIGITAL BLOOMS APRIL 2017 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS + DIGITAL BLOOMS TURNS 1!

April 1st is an exciting day here at JustineCelina headquarters — it’s been exactly 1 year since Rebecca Dawn Design and I teamed up to create the first edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS for you! There have been so many milestones to celebrate this past month, but this is a very special one. I feel incredibly grateful to continue to work with Rebecca to bring FLOWER content to JustineCelina and make flower education accessible. We are so very lucky to be able to learn from the best!

To set the tone the 1st Anniversary Edition of Digital Blooms, we drew inspiration from the Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report. Blush, neutral and muted tones are trending this spring — and they just happen some of mine and Rebecca’s favourites! April 2017’s 3 digital wallpapers feature an array of quintessential spring blooms including Ranunculus (and those gorgeous, oversized Japanese Ranunculus!), Lisianthus, Hellebores and Pieris set to a spring inspired palette of soft blush, peach and mauve shades. MY 2ND BLOGIVERSARY + 10 THINGS I LEARNED IN MY SECOND YEAR OF BLOGGING

Today’s post has literally been 1 year in the making! March 2, 2017 marked my 2nd Blogiversary. Can you believe it? So here we are — just over 2 years, 218 blog posts, 400 000 views, 100 000 images and 2 000 comments later, I’m sharing my My 2nd Blogiversary + 10 Things I Learned in my Second Year of Blogging!

Part of the reason I love blogging is that I have bookmarks into specific time periods of my life (albeit, a small portion of it). It’s so interesting to look back and reflect on where I was 1 year ago versus where I am now. Today’s post is different than last years Blogiversary celebration — because I’m different. This is a quite an introspective, raw post set to the theme of growth and change, which is also my overarching theme for March to welcome spring. This year, I wanted my Blogiversary to feel exactly how it would if we just hanging out as friends, sharing a glass of wine and having a conversation about the last year of this crazy journey of mine. It’s not the shiny production that last year’s post was — and it feels just right. Relaxed, casual, and simply more me at this specific moment (just as last year’s post felt like me at that specific moment). EFFORTLESS TRAVEL STYLE

Hello from Vancouver! It’s been awhile since I’ve traveled outside of Alberta and I’m so thrilled to be exploring this gorgeous city. I actually didn’t plan to publish a dedicated style post for this look, but many of you were interested in what I was wearing when I posted a photo of this outfit on Instagram yesterday — so where we are! While all of the style content you see here at JustineCelina is reflective of my fairly eclectic personal style, I like to keep things interesting, so I showcase a range of looks. Today’s outfit is such an easy one for me to wear and very representative of my everyday style — a simple, no fuss look incorporating some of my favourite wardrobe staples. In fact, I’ve worn every single piece (except my new-ish Zara sweater!) in previous style content.

I take in as much as I can on foot while I’m traveling (I love to discover new things around each corner!), so I do a lot of walking. While comfort and warmth are my first priorities, I also like to look polished and up for anything. Most locals have been complaining about the weather, but it’s -20°C in Calgary, so not having to be totally bundled up and deal with snow sounds pretty good to me right now (it’s been a long winter!). My Effortless Travel Style is achieved by packing a small but cohesive wardrobe full of quality, simple pieces and great accessories that I’m able to combine in unique ways to create a variety of outfits. BANANA WALNUT GREEN SMOOTHIE BOWL

I don’t know about you, but with March dancing on the horizon I’m so over winter. Today I decided to bring spring to JustineCelina a bit early with a Pantone Inspired Banana Walnut Green Smoothie Bowl! I’ve been on a mission to simplify, streamline and organize my life this year in an attempt to cultivate more balance — and that’s definitely trickled into my diet as well. Although I tend to favour simple, seasonal recipes packed full of awesome, fresh ingredients, I’ve found myself especially drawn to culinary minimalism (did you catch my Blood Orange Creamsicle Mimosas!?). This beautiful bowl of plant based goodness comes together with just 6 superfood ingredients and is brimming with ultra nourishing, hearty healthy, skin helping, brain boosting, anti aging benefits! It’s the ultimate beauty food.

Although I love smoothies, I was feeling a bit uninspired about drinking them from a mason jar as of late. So, I reignited my passion for smoothies by enjoying them bowl style — decked out with delicious, fresh toppings (hey, we eat with our eyes first, right?)! My Pantone Inspired Banana Walnut Green Smoothie Bowl is packed with plant based protein (read: no prepackaged protein powder necessary!) thanks to a healthy dose of walnuts and a protein rich nut milk. This bowl’s vibrant green hue is courtesy of tender baby spinach — with a natural, creamy sweetness thanks to bananas, powerhouse medjool dates and fresh vanilla bean. It seriously tastes like dessert, but you can eat it for breakfast!

Hey shoe lovers — welcome back for the second installment in my 2 part Winter 2017 Shoe Guide mini series dedicated to stylish, cold weather footwear!
