JUNE 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey beautiful people — welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites! June was a fun month here at JustineCelina, packed with events, roadtrips, and absolutely gorgeous weather. Summer has definitely arrived in Calgary and I’ve been taking every opportunity I can to get outside and enjoy it! In June I experimented with a lot of seasonal trends in the beauty department and really pushed the boundaries of what type of what type of products I incorporated into my routine. It creative month for me beauty wise — and it was a blast!

If you’re so over spring pastels and nudes, this post is for you! My June 2017 Beauty Favourites are bursting with vibrant hues and unconventional finishes and formulas. I have mini reviews on a little bit of everything today — a beautiful, compact, warm toned eyeshadow palette (which is actually a fantastic alternative to the in-and-out of stock Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette), my favourite mascara of the year (and it just happens to be under $7!), more Lancôme lip products, a delicious vegan shower cream, a neon red blush, an ultra fine makeup setting mist, a spray that makes your locks super shiny, a metallic rose gold polish with good-for-your-nail ingredients. FEBRUARY 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Welcome back for another edition of Monthly Beauty Favourites! I have a little bit of everything to share with you this month — including including makeup, haircare, skincare, fragrance and wellness recommendations that span categories here at JustineCelina. My February 2017 Beauty Favourites is a long one, so if you’re spending this snowy Sunday afternoon at home with half an hour to spare, curl up with a nice hot mug of tea and let’s chat chat about a few of my favourite things!

I was truly all over the map this month in terms of products I used and loved, which makes for a very eclectic medley! Makeup wise I found myself drawn to romantic, rosy hues, nude lips and colourful, blown out smoky eyes — I’m craving spring inspired hues, but still embracing the drama of winter. Extremely dry, frigid winter weather persists here in Calgary (and unfortunately March is looking cold!) so my skin has definitely been feeling the effects. I discovered some extremely hydrating products for both my hands and my lips containing nourishing oils to aid in hydration. I also found a great product for taming those pesky flyaways, an inexpensive, no frills setting powder for the face and I rediscovered my love for a metallic, budget friendly eyeliner. I also visited my favourite spa in Canmore for a massage and picked up a chakra balancing essential oil to enjoy at home (in fact, I have some in a warmer right now!). On the completely other end of the spectrum, I feel head over heels for Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum after attending a lovely event celebrating its launch earlier last month!

A MINI MOUNTAIN GETAWAY

If you’ve been following along on social media, you may have read or heard a few times how exhausted I was feeling at the end of last week. There are some incredibly exciting things happening behind the scenes right now that can’t wait to share with you soon — but it’s been a ton of work getting them off the ground! I’ve mentioned previously that I’m a major workaholic (I absolutely love what I do!) and sometimes it can get the better of me. I’m definitely more mindful of it these days since balance is something I seem to be constantly pursuing. It can be really difficult for me to step away from my work — especially since I find myself really getting in a groove creatively and wanting to keep up the momentum. But, as I’ve also mentioned previously, I need to remember that while consistency is important in producing great creative work, so is taking care of myself so I can stay inspired and not completely burn out (which I was on the verge of last week). I’m sure many of you fellow creatives can relate!

So, I took this weekend to rejuvenate and rescheduled every commitment I had. Friday evening we grabbed sushi and wine at our favourite place (Kabuku downtown if any of you Calgarians are wondering), gave each other massages set to spa music and went to bed before midnight (yes I know, we’re old). Saturday I chatted with my oldest friend on the phone for 2 hours, caught up on some housework, blog work and basic R&R. I’m talking skipping my daily HIIT workout and doing research for upcoming projects and content from bed with a big cup of freshly ground, french pressed coffee and a big messy bun — and not getting out of my pyjamas until I took an amazing, 45 minute shower (I actually had time to wash my hair!). I even did a face mask, which I used to do every Sunday evening, but sadly haven’t had the energy for lately. On Sunday, we decided to make the most of this beautiful, early autumn weather and head west towards the Rocky Mountains for a wine picnic. 2015 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

If you read any of my beauty posts, read this one! Today I’m rounding up all my 2015 beauty favourites in one post. If you’ve been with me for awhile, you know I absolutely love makeup, playing with beauty products, and experimenting with different looks. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything — and I’m definitely very particular when it comes to what I use and like. These are the absolute best, cream-of-the-crop products that I think can work for anyone! I continue to use and recommend these products again and again — not only for myself, but for family and friends of all ages, ethnicities and skintones.

BEST IN BEAUTY | APRIL 2015

Hey guys! Today I’m sharing April’s most loved beauty products. Overall, I was into cooler tones (which is strange for me!). Since I have warm colouring and green eyes, I tend to favour warm colours on both the eyes and lips — last month I gravitated towards purples and cooler neutrals overall. I also played around with lots of different eye looks, eyeliner and eyeshadow. Let’s chat beauty!
