I’m very excited to share a soft and pretty boudoir shoot I styled in collaboration with Gabe McClintock; a brilliant, award-winning photographer based in Calgary. It’s also been featured by Junebug Weddings and The Calgary Bride — what an honour!
I’d worked with Gabe previously on a few styled shoots, so when he came to me with a different idea for a boudoir shoot, I was so excited to partner with him and help bring his vision to life! Together, we created images that were ethereal, feminine and raw — something unique and fresh in the boudoir category. I curated a wardrobe of vintage lingerie in soft, winter-inspired pastel hues with romantic lace accents and whimsical details.
The shoot took place in a character home with huge windows on a very white winter day. The space was staged to maximize the beautiful natural light and create a serene backdrop for our images. Vintage furniture was juxtaposed with modern touches and crisp white linens to keep the overall look pretty and fresh. We wanted to give the viewer the feeling that they’re getting an authentic glimpse into Irene’s bedroom — Gabe captured moments that are personal, innocent and alluring.
We kept Irene’s makeup soft and natural with a defined, matte eye and two lip options — a light peachy nude, and a berry stain. Her hair was styled in soft, finger-combed waves with a deep side part for a pretty, undone look.
For this collection of images, we wanted a soft, vintage feeling. Gabe shot everything with the Contax 645 or the Leica M7, on Kodak Portra 400 film.
I hope you enjoy browsing a few of the images we made together!
