FALL 2015 FASHION TRENDS & TIPS

Fall is quickly becoming my favourite time of year — a fresh start signified by changing leaves, crisp morning air, and my favourite time for fashion! Every September I do a big wardrobe purge and refresh, and choose a some new key pieces to incorporate into my personal style. Since I was doing some online shopping this week, I thought it would be fun to chat about the season’s biggest trends, how to wear them, and give you my tips on how to transition your wardrobe from summer into fall. TEXTURE OBSESSION | FRINGE

What better thing to do on my first Saturday at home in over a month than curl up with a big cup of tea and shop in my yoga pants?! Today’s post is another installment in my OBSESSION series; highlighting a print, colour or texture of the moment, and showing you how to work it into your personal style — whether it be in the form of fashion, beauty, or in the home. SLEEPING BEAUTIES

I’m very excited to share a soft and pretty boudoir shoot I styled in collaboration with Gabe McClintock; a brilliant, award-winning photographer based in Calgary. It’s also been featured by Junebug Weddings and The Calgary Bride — what an honour!

I’d worked with Gabe previously on a few styled shoots, so when he came to me with a different idea for a boudoir shoot, I was so excited to partner with him and help bring his vision to life! Together, we created images that were ethereal, feminine and raw — something unique and fresh in the boudoir category. I curated a wardrobe of vintage lingerie in soft, winter-inspired pastel hues with romantic lace accents and whimsical details.

A WHITE WINTER WEDDING

As we spring forward, I’m sharing some winter wedding inspiration to remind us how beautiful our Canadian winters can be. This was a chilly (but fun!) day spent in collaboration with some talented ladies and gents in High River, just after a fresh snowfall. The vision for this shoot was inspired by Rebecca‘s idea to create a winter wedding on a crisp white backdrop, along with a 1950’s wedding dress and furs I curated for Calamity Jane Vintage. Our team worked with a colour palette of soft pink, with pops of navy blue and gold in a peaceful, snowy scene. It was also featured on Green Wedding Shoes — what an honour!

A VINTAGE CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL PARTY

This Vintage Cocktail Party to collaborate on with a very talented group of creatives. It all began with Rebecca’s vision to recreate a festive holiday scene inspired by a vintage illustration. A woman trims her tree with roses in a pink 1950’s ball gown (with a handsome man in the background!). As soon as I saw the illustration, I knew we were going to have a blast creating our version of a holiday cocktail party.
