My Spicy Pumpkin Persimmon Smoothie combines homemade pumpkin puree (which I also share my recipe for in this post!) and sweet and creamy persimmon with spicy fall flavours of fresh ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. This is one of my favourite smoothies yet -- it tastes like an indulgent treat, but it's brimming with healthy, nourishing, seasonal ingredients!

1cupfrozen bananas
2/3cuppumpkin puree
1sweet persimmon
1/4cupcoconut milk
1/4tspfresh lemon juice(just a squeeze)
1scoop vanilla protein powder
1tspfresh minced ginger
1/2tspcinnamon
1/4tspnutmeg
1/4tspground cloves
Optional Garnish
Crushed ginger snap cookies
Coconut flakes
Star anise
Cinnamon stick
Instructions
Peel the persimmon, and chop into small pieces. Mince ginger.
Add all ingredients to your Vitamix (or similar) and blend until smooth.
Add optional garnish. I used with crushed ginger snap cookies, coconut flakes, star anise and a cinnamon stick.
