THE LUST LIST: FASHION & BEAUTY | SPRING 2015

Would spring just hurry up and get here already?! In Calgary the temperature has been hovering right around 0 degrees celcius lately, but it’s supposed to get really nice later this week. So today I’m excited to share a few fashion and beauty items I’m lusting over for spring!

1. Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil | 2. Double Layer Pleated Top | 3. New Look Premium Ear Cuff Multipack | 4. Kimchi Blue Scoop-Waist Midi Skirt | 5. Bourjois Colour Boost Lipstick | 6. Chinese Laundry Santa Fe Grey Suede Leather Fringe Sandals | 7. Estée Lauder Little Black Primer™ | 8. BECCA Limited Edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed | 9. Retro Feelings Oval Sunglasses | 10. Leather High Heeled Sandals with Bow | 11. Matte Triangle Drop Earrings

1. Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil | Oh My Gold

This is definitely a splurge — at C$35, this is definitely the most expensive lip product I’ve ever been compelled to purchase! The reason I’m so intrigued by this product is because the formula — the pigment is actually blended with 4 hydrating oils, so it’s not a gloss at all, more of a “lip oil”. It’s supposed to be nourishing, natural looking, and leave a bit of a warm pink stain behind after the shine wears off — I think that sounds like the perfect on-the-go spring lip product. This week, Sephora is double cash back (8%) at ebates.com, so I think I might go ahead and take the plunge!

2. Double Layer Pleated Top

The trend I’m most excited about this spring? Yellow! It’s one of my favourite colours — in the home, in design and to wear. I have some more muted yellow tones in my wardrobe currently, but nothing this lemony-bright, so I’m looking forward to adding some more vivid yellow hues to my closet this spring. I think this top from Zara is so simple and versatile — it would be perfect under a blazer for client meetings, and can easily be dressed up with a statement necklace and skinny jeans for a night out!

3. New Look Premium Ear Cuff Multipack

Lately I’ve been more into simple, delicate jewellery — but I’m totally in love this tribal set from ASOS! This set is quite large and will definitely make a statement, but I like to pair bolder jewellery with more simple, sleek looks to change it up. I think the lapis blue stones will pair well with both pastels and brights this spring and add a cool bohemian flair.

4. Kimchi Blue Scoop-Waist Midi Skirt

I tried this skirt on the other day — it is so flattering! It sits right at the smallest part of your waist, the vertical stripes are a bit slimming and the material hugs your curves in all the right places. I have a few midi length skirts, and I get a lot of wear out of them — they’re an easy piece to transition from work to play, while showing just the right amount of skin. This would also be cute with a bit of a crop top / semi-sheer top for a summer festival.

5. Bourjois Colour Boost Lipstick | Proudly Naked

These Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayons are my all time favourite lip crayons. I own almost all of the other colours, but they just came out with a few new shades for spring, and this one must be mine! What I love about this formula is that it’s perfectly balanced — it has great pigment, but it’s a little bit sheer, which makes it perfect to keeping in your bag and throwing on without a mirror. It’s also hydrating and I like that the formula contains an SPF, which is great for protecting your lips from premature aging during warmer months. I think Proudly Naked will be the perfect soft pink nude for spring.

6. Chinese Laundry Santa Fe Grey Suede Leather Fringe Sandals

Suede fringe sandals — all my favourite things in one shoe! I’m already signed up for the restock on these babies and I can’t wait slip my feet into them. Even this winter, I’ve been into fringe booties — I love the movement that fringe has as you walk, I think it’s so playful and fun. These sandals are beautifully designed, and since they’re a great neutral taupe I’m sure I’ll put a few miles on them this spring.

7. Estée Lauder Little Black Primer™

My Clinique High Impact Mascara (which I mentioned in my Best in Beauty | February post) has finally run out, and I’ve been looking for another good layering mascara, that I can use as a “primer” to prep my lashes before going in with a more volumizing formula. I tried a new drugstore mascara this month and it was absolutely horrible — you’ll be hearing about that one soon — so I’m looking to try something new. I think this would work well with paired Covergirl’s Lash Blast, which I’m using currently. I’ll report back on this one!

8. BECCA Limited Edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed | Blushed Copper

BECCA makes some fantastic highlighters and blushes. I own their Limited Edition Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Pressed in Champagne Gold (no longer available) and Mineral Blush in Songbird and I find myself reaching for them quite often. This product is supposed to be more of a hybrid product — a luminizer and blush in one. I’ve seen some swatches of this product online and it looks intense — I’d definitely wear it as a glowy blush — but it looks so beautiful on the skin! I think it will compliment sun-kissed skin and warmer toned spring looks well.

9. Retro Feelings Oval Sunglasses

I love a good pair of shades. Although I definitely do not need anymore sunglasses, I couldn’t resist these cute floral frames from Go Jane. I’ve never owned floral printed shades, and while the print is a bit crazy, I could see these going well with spring pastels, more neutral colour palettes, and even stripes. Plus, these sunnies are under $5! I purchase most of my inexpensive sunglasses at Go Jane — they carry a lot of the vintage-inspired, oversized styles that I love, and since they’re such a great price I can continue to add to my collection without breaking the bank.

10. Leather High Heeled Sandals with Bow

These sandals from Zara are so unique — I love the cutout details and the colour — a yellow / chartreuse hybrid. I really like Zara shoes, they’re made well and usually pretty comfortable too. These bright sandals are a fun way to add a pop of on-trend colour to an outfit without looking like you’re trying too hard. They’re feminine and a bit edgy — I can see these complimenting a lot of my existing spring wardrobe, and I think they’ll look great paired with bold lip colours as well.

11. Matte Triangle Drop Earrings

These simple brushed gold earrings from Forever 21 are a great staple. They’re chic and simple, but they have a bit of an edge to them, which I love. I’ll definitely be putting these in my cart during my next order. I’ve actually been shopping at Forever 21 quite a bit these last few months — I think they’ve been killing it lately! I purchased a couple of fur vests, boots, and sweaters there over the winter, and whenever anyone asked where I got them, they were shocked when I mentioned Forever 21. I kind of go in phases of shopping there and being over it, but lately, I’m into it!
